Should I start Edi first, wait until the game loads, and then open MFP? Could someone give me a quick rundown/tutorial on how to set it up properly

It should still work with the latest steam version.
Just extract the mod into the game folder and run EDI.
No need to apply Step 2, since the steam version is already uncensored
