Can I connect The Handy 2 to things like Faptap using a wired connection?

Hi all. I don’t have Bluetooth on my computer. I presumed that I’d be able to just connect my Handy via a cable to my PC and use things like Faptap/Script Player through a wired connection, but everything seems to be pointing me towards going wireless and a Bluetooth connection.

Am I being an idiot? Is it possible to run scripts through a wired connection or do I need to go via Bluetooth? If so, would a cheap Bluetooth dongle suffice?

Thanks for the help, all.

  1. The Handy 1 and 2 do not support wired connectivity.
  2. The Handy’s main claim to fame is the ability to load scripts via Handy’s servers and deliver them via wifi. This is the preferred and recommended method.
  3. Bluetooth is supported by the Handy as well, but has performance limitations due to the lower bandwidth available. Some scripts will drop movements as a result when using Bluetooth.

The handy requires either bluetooth or wifi in order to work with scripts.
You need to use the handy setup app or the website.

It’s easiest to setup with the mobile app.
Once you have it setup you will have a code that you put in different sites and that connects the site to your device.

also a usb bluetooth dongle costs like 10$, if you can afford a handy, you can spare that for a BT dongle
