Question for people with multiple toys. Is the axis models really worth it vs the regular handy? How does it compare?
Or, I mean toys that have the ability to move on different axes
As a long time Handy user who upgraded to an OSR2+, here’s the things I like about the OSR2+:
- Since you asked about multi-axis I’ll address that first. The way it works is a bit different than I imagined it would but I do like it a lot. I imagined that it’d simulate the different angles your dick can point during sex, like pointed toward your chin during belly to belly, or at an angle away from you when she’s leaning far back in cowgirl. The way it actually works is that it’s still an up and down stroke but the fleshlight moves around so each up and down stroke feels unique as my dick slides along the textured walls of the fleshlight from different sides. It’s subtle but feels more organic and less repetitive during repeated up down strokes. You can use custom multi-axis scripts or have MultiFunPlayer generate random axis scripts when there’s no custom axis scripts. Both feel awesome and immersive.
- I love how secure a fleshlight is when it locks into place. I was used to the sleeve slipping a bit on the Handy and having to adjust it back into place occasionally during sessions. It’s so nice to not have that bother at all anymore.
- I love how the OSR2+ comes with an integrated desk clamp. It’s a lot more quick now to set up/take down and solid as a rock compared to my DIY Handy mount.
- Fleshlights come in a huge variety of textures and tightnesses. When I found one I liked, it felt way nicer than the Handy sleeve. And it has greater thermal mass so once I warm it up, it stays warm a lot longer.
- I like the way you can control things with MultiFunPlayer with keybinds. I can press a button on my keyboard and it’ll start playing a custom warmup script I chose. Two buttons on my mouse control the speed limit and another two raise or lower the low point of the stroke so if I want to stroke just the tip I can easily do that on the fly, then back to full strokes in 5% increments or whatever you choose when you set it up. Another key on my keyboard connects MFP with Heresphere on my Quest3, so I can start off with the warmup script while I put the headset on and fire up Heresphere, start playing a video then seamlessly swap over to that script.
Sorry for the wall of text but I hope it helps you.
Everyone just refers to them as multi-axis if you want an easier way to describe it.
So there is a minority of people who don’t like multiaxis for the complexity of the setup/tear down or they feel like they get enough bang for their buck with just a single-axis and that multi-axis is overkill. But that’s a minority of the users.
For the most part, most of the people who go multi-axis love the added complexity in the sensations that additional axises add to the experience of a funscript. Sex is usually more than just an up/down stroke and though that’ll be good enough for most things, sometimes people want more.
For instance we had someone ask about whether or not the device could emulate a belly dancer’s movements for a riding motion and yes the devices can try to emulate that, a sensation thats just not at all possible with just the single-axis.
Just the twist axis is something that a lot of people are looking for to add to single-axis strokers because it can spin the entire sleeve as it goes down on you.
Honestly the major thing is, are you willing to learn how to use a multi-axis device and can you afford to buy a multi-axis stroker. Most of the people here just buy their devices and don’t build them. And even after buying it, you do need to learn how to work the device and maintain it. And as for learning, these devices aren’t plug and play compared to the commercial offerings. It takes a bit of getting used to but its worth the effort.
everyone has mentioned most of the pros/cons of either type of device, so I will mention the biggest for me. I have a OSR, SR6 and two Handy. I started with the handy, setup is the worst part with any of the devices they do require you to follow a couple steps to get them all set to go on your system. once the setup is done they are all quickly ready to use.
Now, Maintenance, The handy has been flawless for me over a easy couple thousand hours of use. lightly grease the screw shaft once in a while bout it. I did buy a second handy because i thought mine was dying but it turned out to be a bad power supply (they tend to break at the wires at the male plug in end.
Both the OSR and the SR6 have probably less than 1000 hours of use and they both are on my desk ready for at least one new servo each, tho i do love my SR6 i just cant use it anymore. As well as my OSR has one servo arm that just wont stay tight no matter what ive tried. and have had to replace one of the metal servo arms because it stripped out the splines (no biggie, pretty cheap and easy to do)
Im looking forward to getting one of the new funsr pro deals that use the robo motor, seems like it might be better.
