So at about 8 hours per script that would be 6,25$ an hour and giving your personal data to a shady firm (changing subscription conditions while subscribed) ? Sounds great.
Now if i didn’t need to register a business to get paid I would sign on but i’m pretty sure that would cost more then I would make in the first 3 month of doing this.
Making the entire post here meaningless honestly. Getting a free subscription and a toy isn’t really something creators would go for, especially if it means not being able to sell them or distribute them themselves.
Not trying to offend. PS I don’t know if there is a way around registering an actual business IDK.
Why would you say all that? Why hating? What’s wrong with you?
We are building tech and growing creators economy. Making things happen that were discussed for decade. Now anyone can be a part of the movement and we really appreciate people contributing their scripts either fulltime or having it as a side project. Interactive sex toys and scripts are actively progressing. Lots of new cool things are coming next
why would you leave out the fact that creators without a business wouldn’t be getting paid and get the rights to there script taken away? once again not trying to be hating on it, just seems you left out a lot of information in the original post is all.
No rights can be taken away. Where do you bring it from?
Original post highlights the opportunity. There are some industry standard requirements that also protect the cooperation and make the whole thing a safe long term venture you can build your future on.
We have established a solid business culture in scripts economy and looking for more ways to copperate with contributors
“Developer may not distribute or sell any of the Scripts to other any person or business.”
You can create and distribute scripts on SLR under SLR license. We are clear about that and get you covered in every aspect making it a solid business venture for everyone.
You are free to use any other license to distribute it elsewhere. We don’t have exclusivity clause or anything. You are required to have a license to distribute scripts commercially.
each with a bunch of extra conditions.
I write scripts for another company, and they just transfer money to my patreon, a fair deal.
What’s the point for me to work with you?
Sorry to tell you but you are likely breaking patreon tos and it qualifies for tax evasion. Just because they can send you money this way doesn’t mean you are doing things right.
We are giving you a solid business you can be sure about
I was sure about the conditions when I made contract with you for my subscription. They were changed. You reduced the scripts downloadable from 10 to 3 and now you are reducing video quality also within my subscription. No misunderstanding, you can do all this, its your shop, but only for new subscribers not for running subscriptions annually or lifetime. Don’t expect to be trustworthy after those moves. You are not. Start a streaming only subscription and see if it works before changing the contract without consent.
Subscription conditions might change. Just like everything in life. We give everyone a fair deal
No you can not change the conditions in a running subscription they are set at subscription.
And a subscription is not life.
The one thing you can be sure about - everything you know and see is going to change one day. Also according to SLR TOS we can change things
Just got this the other day
I don’t understand your claims - I made my point.
- The opportunity to earn some real money will be only if you really make scripting your main income. And yes - remaining a “freelance scripter” - it will be very difficult, with your company it is easier to do it.
- The attitude towards scriptwriters will be unambiguously defined by general rules for everyone.
- The device looks and moves well - an accurate stroker “out of the box” (not diy) is something everyone lacks, good luck with getting it up and running.
Look Doublevr. We gave you feedback on your actions. Take it or leave it. I personally will not script for you because of the script and quality reduction and I will not subscribe to SLR any more. I do not like what you are doing.
- It’s your personal feelings you are projecting on everyone. Really depends on personality, life situations, living area and many others. Once you have got a solid library of scripts for popular videos over time you can do very well financially. If you just like what you doing you can have your script shared with others under your name and get some nice bonuses from SLR, etc. It really depends.
- Would like to have a better idea what you mean.
- Thx. It’s getting really great with all the development being done
Youtube doesn’t offer lifetime “subscription”. If you’re gonna offer a lifetime subscription, the terms of that lifetime subscription should stay as they were at the time the user bought said license. I do understand this is hard for tech company executives to understand.
Change the value of the monthly subscription all you want as long as you follow the regulations for it. Increase the pricing for all I care. That is within your rights. But don’t screw over your lifetime access customers.
For the record I do not have the lifetime plan/subscription or whatever it’s called. I just feel bad for the ones who bought it and increasingly lessened value out of putting their faith in a company.
PS: You also like throwing the argument that “well you should read Youtube’s etc. agreements with a fine tooth comb”. But we are talking what amounts to a Youtube creator program, not the regular ToS for regular users. You bet your ass I’m going to comb a creator-type contract before signing up to it. Whether it’s Youtube or a funscript-monopoly wannabe.
You’re not considering the preceding text:
“This means that, absent additional authorization from the owner of the base content, and any other person from whom authorization may be required, Developer may not distribute or sell any of the Scripts to other any person or business.”
It’s not a restriction SLR is putting on you; it’s the company clarifying that it and you understand that scripts could be considered derivative work and that commercializing such work may require permission from the rights holders of the content you’re scripting.
SLR only distributes scripts for content they have explicit license to create and sell such derivative works of.
You may disagree, but it’s a common stance in several legal jurisdictions across the globe. You’re allowed to sell scripts outside SLR, including the scripts SLR compensates you for. They’re just saying “please acknowledge that selling scripts based on content without permission from that content’s owners isn’t legally rock solid”.
Thx. We aren’t taking anything away. Just giving you all the legal foundation and making things clear for everyone.
Let me know if you guys are looking for particular studios so we can get these for you.
