Do other people also always use OpenFunscripter to smooth out scripts with the MakeCurve extension?

I just feel like it makes every script feel so much better, and a lot more real. Like, it turns a script that’s an 8 into a 9.

Is this just personal preference, or is there actually something behind it that I don’t understand?

Is there a reason you don’t use the interpolation features in MultiFunPlayer? It does the same thing without having to edit individual scripts. I don’t use it myself though, I prefer to leave the scripter’s experience untouched.

I have never tried MultiFunPlayer, and I didn’t know there was an auto-smoothing option you could enable.
I’ll give it a try and see if it feels the same.

Not always. In your script there is a mid point that’s added to represent speed changes. By using the function on the entire thing, you create a plateau at this mid point where the device slows down. This is probably not what the script maker intended and does not match the video.

Some other advice on whether or not to use MakeCurve on your script:

If you want to smooth out an entire script, and your device is an OSR, try the interpolation feature in MFP as suggested by PoopBalls:
