Another slightly annoying thing i noticed is when i click on any video to play it and the video player loads up, it plays with the heatmap on screen, is there a way to prevent it from always popping up? Once i click on the screen and then click again to hide the player menus it does go away but it is an extra click everytime
Version 1.8.6
- Fix script graph initial visibility
- Fix hierarchical view (you might need a folder rescan to fix it)
@Sasong let me know if itās all good now ![]()
Just checked, looks like its all working now, thanks alot ![]()
Navigation is so much cleaner and faster with the new update! The app is also more stable and the UI keeps improving with lots of nice details.
Keep up the great work ![]()
After updating my handy will connect but doesnāt respond to scripts
Weird, I donāt think I changed anything for The Handy connection. You can try downgrade your version to 1.8.4 and let me know if itās better. I will try to check tomorrow
Just checked, I think the broke something. Requesting a play or stop when the script is not fully initialized crashed the app. So installing an older version would also crash I think.
Preparing a hotfix ![]()
Version 1.8.7
- Fix Handy script init
@spiderfan8500 it should be fixed !
FYI, I have been working on a new VR Player. Itās already better than the old player with pinch to zoom, eyes view for Google Carboard, ⦠I will release it soon to gather your feedback and improve it once it will be stable enough ![]()
Just updated to 1.8.7 and cleared app data for new thumbnail generation, however it crashes upon opening a very large folder (~1500 videos), which worked on previous versions before the thumbnail changes.
I donāt have access to email on this device to send a bug report, would you be able to add a bug report button that sends it directly to the server or maybe copy the log to clipboard/export the log?
I also noticed that folder sorting and filtering options arenāt saved so you have to redo them after app restarts, would be nice to have that saved.
Finally, with script naming, could you support alternative script detection e.g.:
Filename.funscript > already detected automatically
Filename(filler).funscript > not detected
Therefore, something like this:
Filename(anytexthere).funscript
All these scripts should automatically attach to the same Filename.mp4 video, and maybe we could have an in-player script selector UI to switch between them?
Hi, I was going to report that the toggle to switch between gyro+touch, gyro only and touch only mode is broken in 1.8.7, but I will gladly wait for the new VR player and use the DeoVR connection in the meantime, which works perfectly
thanks much
My old server hosting the website died ![]()
So the next version will be delayed until I recover it, hoping I will be able to get a backup working (itās not promising right now
)
out of curiosity, why is it dying? an error, power cutouts etc? is it like self hosted?
is it mainly like static files being stored there? or is this server also responsible for the android app some features?
Iām self hosting the website only. My server randomly restarts and I have absolutely no log or anything to understand whatās going on. I think one of the restarts caused a database corruption yesterday. The funflixdroid app is not impacted because I already move the server to a VPS and I will most likely do the same for the website.
Version 1.9.0
- Add watch indicator
- Add video metadata extraction
- Overhaul video selection actions
- Add script matching format : videoName(%).funscript
- Save video filters
- Rework VR player
- VR Player: Add pinch to zoom
- VR Player: Add split screen cardboard compatibility
- VR Player: Add projection options
- VR Player: Add orientation options
I will check if I can host an ACRA backend
Done
Done, but the match only happens the first time you load a folder. So you will need to remove and add your existing folders if you need to match your scripts.
Already on the roadmap
Another huge update, it seems! The new VR player looks awesome, I played with it for a total of 3 minutes so am excited to try everything, Iām really wondering how you managed to incorporate.. all? the projection options including fisheye stuff? Wow
Of course, by clicking around stuff I got one.. in ānormalā VR player I selected my favorite interactive mode - gyro only, and then I switched display mode to glass.. and then I found out I had no way to get out of this since none of the VR controls responded to touch anymore
thankfully shutting down FFD and reopening brought back the default VR player settings.
In other modes the controls are accessible normally, but I guess in gyro-only the controls fall into gesture boxes? So they donāt respond to taps.. not sure how to solve this though, without losing the gestures in glass mode (I have homido mini glasses so I can see myself using the gestures even in cardboard mode)
Edit - ofc by controls I mean settings of the player like projection mode, orientation, etc. - not the actual playback controls. Thanks
Just checked why itās happening. I didnāt understand why Iāve done it like that, then I tried to change everything to fix the issue. Nothing is working and I started to understand why I did it like that ![]()
Hey, I was just about to write some more feedback
thanks, I tried 1.9.1 and the buttons seem to be working just fine! No more soft locks when selecting gyro only and then glass.. one caveat to this is, it seems you might have removed the previous āhappy accidentā when in gyro only mode, edges of the device still responded to touch, and allowed to āmoveā the image around? Now only gestures are registered, plus the UI buttons taps. This is normally fine but in case of a gyro drift, now only way to recenter the image I found is to switch to either touch or gyro+touch.. sometimes the image actually recenters itself, or I can at least manually set it how I need it. Perhaps a recenter button would be useful if itās possible?
One behavior I noticed previously is that by default upon first load, a VR SBS video would open basically rotated 90 degrees horizontally - the line between two parts would be in the middle of the view. Not sure if this can be adjusted, and usually after manual adjustment of the first video I played, the next ones would load with correct orientation.
But what I wanted to check with you originally is related to the glass view - I noticed that itās not aligned properly when I look at it through the cardboard glasses. Originally I thought that this might be due to other players like Deo or Playa using actual cardboard config for my particular glasses (adjusting the size of the two ābinocularsā and whatever else is in the cardboard spec), but while useful, I used the glasses also with apps that used a generic config and the 3d effect was still there..
Then I thought of taking screenshots:
This is a video as shown in FFD, glass view:
And this one is same video, same timestamp, but through DeoVR Cardboard:
The difference in size and shape of the two view halves is due to Deo adjusted to cardboard config of my glasses, but if you notice the modelās position on the left vs. right half, in Deo itās shifted while in FFD itās not.. so I was wondering if FFD isnāt actually displaying the same half of the SBS video in both left and right views? I tried various positions of my glasses as thereās no guiding line in FFD, but couldnāt find a spot where the video would actually be seen correctly and instead I always got two of Ivyās asses (which is nice lol), but in 2d and overlapping each other (not so nice) ![]()
Oh now I see what you did there! Or at least I just noticed it in 1.9.1 - when the controls are shown in touch + gyro, the gestures work too! Thatās very nice, initially I noticed only that to hide the controls in this mode, only 1 tap is needed now instead of two, but being able to use gestures in touch+gyro is a UX improvement imho too.
Also, I guess the pinch to zoom is not supposed to work in gyro only, correct? As it clashes with gestures.. but if all is available in touch+gyro, I think also my previous comment about moving the image via dragging screen edges becomes a non-issue.. I might try and use the touch+gyro now as it seems feature-complete to me now..
One minor thing please - in DeoVR mode, is it possible to stop the script playback if Deo is disconnected? Right now when I e.g. close the DeoVR app while FFD is connected, the loaded script continues to play and needs to be stopped manually. Btw same happens when a video is playing in Deo and I back out of it, going back to main Deo UI. Unless I pause the video before doing that, the script continues to play in FFD. Not sure if this is easily doable though, as Deo doesnāt have a stop button only pause and menu (top left of the playback UI). So Iām not sure if a stop action is sent when going back to the UI in Deo..
