Maybe an elastic band that can hold those pieces tighter? That sounds more safe.

would definitely be safer but I don’t trust elastics to not slip. Would personally rather have something solid. Maybe make it an option like the handy did.

The basic rule to follow is: if it can fail, it will fail.
Safety is important, so you want to be sure that if it fails, its not going to be a problem. The heavier, the more secure it has to be.
The 2 main hazards slipping can cause is:
- The toy falls out of it. Usualy not a problem since it still contains your dick in it. But it could cause the device to get extra stress. And since it can handle heavy objects, its very likely not going to stop here.
- Your dick slips out as you pushed the toy further through it. With heavy sleeves its not likely to happen, but for light sleeves this is a problem. Its the main hazard for the handy, as your dick is VERY close to its engine part. In this case, its not realy a problem. It might throw your toy out and break that, but light toys are far less likely to break here. And it now might slam your dick. But even that shouldnt even hurt. There usualy is already some open space at the bottom to allow the toy to stick out a bit. I had this a few times where the sleeve managed to release itself on the OSR2, and this never has been any problem other than just being anoying (double sided tape solved this slippage for me). This is a hazard we can safely ignore in this device, why would you even use a light toy in this?
I dont think that on this machine its going to be a severe problem. Slipping is just going to be anoying as you still will have to interupt the session to secure everything again.
Slippage will always remain a problem regardless of solution, as you want the bottom portion of any method to be open, so the toy can slam you. Anything that stops motion here will negate that problem, do it too much and you would have been better off using a fleshlight.

Thanks, I’m excited to read this as I’m expecting mine tomorrow. The first part was a bit misleading though, I thought it was the new machine that was dead after 3 uses, I was very relieved to read on and find out otherwise. I hope the packaging lessons have been learned, I’ll find out tomorrow!

i despise fleshlight, as a product and as a company. I elected to cut a hole in the top of my original handy sleeve instead. And I stuck with the original velcro strap instead of buying the osfa elastic strap. Never had an issue with slipping out of the sleeve; that’s what stroke limiting is for.
I would make a solid gripper modification if one isn’t provided as an option, because I trust myself to not damage anything through user error.
Finally a review on this thing!! Seems like its living up to the hype.
Not sure its fair to compare them to Syncbot, these guys have been around for a bit and released many working devices in the community. And their customer support has always been good in my experience.
But of course, this is their own device with new motors that’s a departure from the Tempest devices so it’s good to be cautious I suppose.
My FUNSOR2+ is still working great (I did have to get a new power supply though), so not sure I’m gonna jump onto upgrading to this just yet but man is this device exciting.

I’ve had 2 SR6, one I built myself as a newcomer to 3d printing, that actually worked surprisingly well but the build quality wasn’t amazing. I still have it for parts etc, and an SR6 I bought a year or two back from FunSR which has been really good, though I have noticed with the SR6 they quite often have grainy motion, which I’ve rarely been able to iron out. Once I went from the Handy to SR6 there was no going back really in terms of organic feel of the motion. The noise was the worst part though, I’ve been using noise-reducing bluetooth buds and ear defenders to try to block it out. I also built the auto-lube and heated sleeve which I intend to use with the FunSR Pro!

I think the problem is that hips come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. I feel it will be quite difficult to find a solution that isn’t thrown together and less than ideal. Also, given the forces put in and the speed of many scripts, I can only imagine an iron maiden type of receiver would completely wreck the hip.

Fair point. I think that is why it’s not easy to come up with a good design atm. I managed to have a good time just using a big onahole that has good surface area where it makes contact with my skin.

I think the idea they were working on wasn’t bad. Some sort of support that wraps around both vertically and horizontally. I’m so close to pulling the trigger on the pre-order because this looks awesome, but would really like to see some of the other builders try their hand at such a robotic type of motor.
I use big onaholes with my current OSR2 with premium servos, and it’s great (like you said, the extra contact is nice), but it definitely degrades faster and can become quite expensive, so this looks really promising.

The only reason i mentioned fleshlight was because of its solid locking mechanism (and i know some brands adapted to use the same or a compatible method). A solid locking point, on a container, which the other brand uses to attach the sleeve, should minimize the chance of slipping.
The OSR can hold many systems as adapters can just be made to suit it.

Do you know the specific model of this motor? Is its T-code completely different? I’ve been thinking about replacing the servo motor in my DIY OSR2 with this motor because the servo is just too noisy.

Does the random movement feel good enough? This is my first multi-axis device, and I’ve checked out MultiFunPlayer already. I just want to know how random the movements actually are.

I don’t think it’s going to easy to replace them. The entire hardware is designed for this specific motor. I do not have name for it but maybe the google image search might help? And I am not really familiar with the software as well. 
You can make them follow the base scripts movement so they make more sense. Or just go full random. Or play a specific pattern for the entire playtime.
I usually use the generated movements that follow the base movement a little so it makes more sense. It works better on full animations or porn then intense hmvs.
