So this isnt a review per say on how great the device is. There are enough reviews on here that give G90AK the flowers he deserves. This is to give perspective on the device after a year of use and what stayed strong and what eventually wore.
Usage: 1-2 times a week
Speed limit: didnt care
Slevee: played with many Slevees even a 700g one
Daily maintenance: only really screwed the right servo in place
The above is to provide a window on how i was using the device for the year. Now onto the actual one year review.
So im wont lie in saying things went wrong from time to time. For a long time i just never noticed that the servos i originally got with my order were mis-matched. One was a 180 degree servo and the other was a 270 degree servo. This would cause the arms to be misaligned at bottom strokes.
If your thinking G90AK will leave you in the dust after along time, stop that cause he wont. It was alot of back and forth figuring out what was going on with the servos and kudos to his patience. What we both realized from this experience is that the manufacturers sometimes just pack the wrong servo and say it’s something else. He was able to send the new servos over for installation which i greatly appreciated.
In terms of wear and tear, i will split this up to 2 sections user caused and usage caused.
User caused wear and tear
A problem i caused when resrewing the arms is adding a washer to where it should t have been. This caused catastrophic damage to the arm over time by literally eroding away the arm. This cause the arm to literally pop off mid session. When i got a new arm as a replacement from G90Ak i will say the video he provied is very useful, but it would have been nice to have a image just showing how the screws and washer are to be assembled. I did have a reciver spacer go bad on me tho. I would not have noticed it if the arm fiasco didnt happen when i had to take the arm apart. The spacer looked fine and intact until i removed it and saw that it was brittle and breaking apart. Im assuming this was caused by the arm already being damaged.
Usage caused wear and tear
Servos are not forever. After alot of use with fast scripts and a heaver sleeve the teeth on the gears did eventually start to break off. The frame is still intact, electical and wiring is still working great. Im just going to put this here cause i fall in this category ( unable to access software tuning program). This isnt G90AKs fault nor did i mess it up somehow. Its the internet provider i now have and the way the wifi work on my pc. Out of the blue i cant access the servo tuning program anymore on pc. Alot of firewalls from my internet provider. Only way i can access this now is through my phone. So some people may have this issue.
So, after a year alot of big problems were caused by me being an idiot. And G90AK was still available to provide product support and send replacement parts. Follow the assembly video and do make sure to do proper maintenance and this device will go strong for years to come, or atleast until the robots get functional jibbly bits.
