Golden Goblin Player — Local Media & Funscript Player (Steam)

Hi everyone!
I’m the developer of Golden Goblin Player (GGP). It’s a Windows app for playing local media and funscripts, and I’ve recently released it on Steam.

Golden Goblin Player on Steam — free demo available

Golden Goblin Player brings your local videos, funscripts, images, audio, and games together in one Windows app. Add your folders and browse or play your collection without switching between programs.

Here’s a quick look at the modes:

  • Core: Videos with synced funscripts, a script heatmap, and a mini-player so you can keep browsing during playback.

  • Book: Images and comics, with scrolling for longer pages.

  • Video: Regular video playback and a vertical Reels view for flipping through clips.

  • Voice: Browse and play your audio collection. (RJ Code Supported)

  • Game: Organize and launch your local games. (RJ, ST Code Supported)

  • Explorer: Find something to play through recommendations across your collections.

Tags, filters, and favorites help keep larger collections manageable. Automatic tagging uses RJ codes, filename keywords, and video-content analysis to help reduce manual sorting.

The interface is available in English, Korean, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.

Device support

Supports T-Code devices and Handy1 via Bluetooth/Wi-Fi. Tested with FunOSR Pro and Handy 1.

Handy 2 support is implemented, but I don’t own the hardware yet, so I haven’t been able to test it myself. It’s marked experimental for now, and I’m really sorry if you run into trouble with it.

If it doesn’t work, please let me know what happens and share any relevant logs. You can turn on Enable logs in the Developer section of Settings, then reproduce the issue. Logs are saved in the app data folder—please check for personal information before sharing them.

I’ll follow up on reports and work with you to get it working properly.

Thanks for taking a look! Feedback and bug reports are always welcome.

I just purchased your app on Steam, and it’s absolutely amazing!
Being able to filter and show only videos with scripts on the main page is an absolute blessing for script enthusiasts.

If you ever plan to release a Traditional Chinese version in the future, I’d be more than happy to help with the localization for free.

P.S. A small feature request: it would be awesome if the player could automatically load “[video_filename]-poster.jpg” located in the same directory as the video cover. Even better, being able to directly read metadata from local .nfo files would make it truly perfect!

Once again, incredible job on this app!

Thank you so much for buying the app and for the kind words. I’m really glad the script filter is useful to you!

Great suggestions. We’ll support all three soon:

  • automatic loading of “-poster.jpg” images, and other images that share the video’s name, as thumbnails
  • metadata from local .nfo files
  • a Traditional Chinese version

Thank you as well for kindly offering to help with the localization.

Thanks again for the support!

might grab this soon. is there tutorial for setting up handy with it?

Hi! Thanks for checking it out :slightly_smiling_face:

Setup is fairly simple—GGP connects to your Handy without needing the mobile app running. I recommend the latest stable Firmware 4.x.

Open Settings → Device and select your Handy model:

  • Bluetooth: Connects directly to your PC’s Bluetooth, without Wi-Fi or Handy’s servers. Put your Handy in Bluetooth mode, disconnect any other apps using it, then click Scan, select it, and click Connect.
  • Wi-Fi: Connects through Handy’s online servers. Once your Handy has Wi-Fi set up and is online, select Wi-Fi, enter your connection key, and click Connect. The official mobile app is only needed if you still need to configure Wi-Fi or update the firmware.

GGP remembers your connection details and will automatically reconnect on future launches when your Handy is available and the same device profile is selected.

If anything gives you trouble, let me know your Handy model, firmware version, and connection method—I’ll help you get it working!

Thank you so much for updating Golden Goblin Player so quickly!

The new update makes the app even more convenient to use (though it was already fantastic to begin with).

I hadn’t realized earlier that most of my video covers were saved as vertical posters. However, thanks to the option you added that lets users customize the cover filename suffix, I was able to switch it to my background fanart images (-fanart), and it instantly solved everything!

Having such open and flexible settings is truly wonderful. Thanks again for your amazing work!

Hi, thanks as always for the incredible work on the player!

I noticed a small issue with T-Code control and was wondering if you might look into it when you have time:

When switching from a multi-axis video (Stroke + Pitch/Roll) to a single-axis one (Stroke only), the secondary axes don’t reset to center. The servos stay locked at whatever angle the previous video left off, so the receiver remains tilted during single-axis playback.

Would it be possible to add an option to auto-center any inactive axes when a new video loads, or perhaps send a neutral 50% command on video change/stop?

Really appreciate your time and support as always!

Thanks for reporting this and for your kind words! This fix will be included in the next patch.

When switching videos, secondary axes that are no longer controlled will smoothly return to center. Axes still controlled by a script or motion provider will continue normally. This T-Code behavior will be enabled by default, with an option to turn it off in the common settings.
