Gist of it is: Bought a Perifit with the intention of seeing if I could use it in place of an inflated buttplug and edge-o-matic 3000/nogasm. It turns out you can and it works really well (only on mac).
I ended up wiring an arduino with a motor driver hat to a Hot Octopuss JETT - it was able to drive that through the app compiled from the code in a self contained way. The code that’s linked will (hopefully) also connect to XToys - I’m going to work that out and make sure it’s able to fully drive a connection similar to the maustec integration and then probably archive this unless someone else wants to maintain it.
Code is here - as well as instructions to compile it. It does some other things – like learn what makes a user get off after a user-defined # of levels, allow for an edging session to be locked so you can’t just restart it and orgasm (and punishes you for trying), and allows the Arduino vibe thing to connect to xtoys to use its patterns. The main functionality should just work and allow you to use the perifit kegel trainer to output an arousal level to XToys for use with other integrations. I’ll get that working in the next day or so and then be done with it.
This has a “training model” that’ll put a user through trials to see what vibrations (only) get the user closer to the cuttoff point and then try and maintain a level between the two bands provided (edge + cutoff).
I think that feature is almost there, but it’s not fully working as intended. I released this with the intention of providing a ~75% cheaper alternative to the EoM3k with much faster delivery and integration into XToys. Maybe the better solution is to release just the XToys specific integration (without the app).
The Handy connects over WiFi and its cloud API, not Bluetooth, so it cannot be controlled directly by Bluetooth-based setups like the Perifit project. For syncing funscripts to The Handy, HaptiQ supports percent-based control over WiFi. Whether that matches your needs depends on your setup’s specifics.
i am wondering if parts can be used in combination with edgeloop.app. It uses a HR monitor, but if you translate the signal in theory it should work as well. The price for the kegel trainer is too high though, wondering if there are cheaper alternatives. wiring the pieces together to create a cheap edgeomatic alternative would be pretty cool
