Interested in getting an OSR2? I'm looking to sell (Europe) (Survey)

Hey there!

I have built my first OSR2+ recently. I have a 3D Printer. I’m a student and I was thinking about building some OSR2 and selling them within the EU to get some more money to afford living.
But I don’t even know if there is a market for this thing! There are quite a couple options, even with modifications and fancy multimaterial prints, but they are priced pretty highly too. Maybe there is interest in more budget oriented builds, too?

I have made one build for myself, it is printed in all black PETG. It’s powered by USB-C and requires a USB Charger capable of at least ~65W. It’s using an ESP32 chip capable of Serial, WiFi (and theoretically Bluetooth, although I haven’t gotten it to be recognized in intiface). It’s using strong fisheye ball bearings for the arms (no rubber gromets).

Here’s my capabilities:

  • I order Servos and other core parts as needed, as they are the main cost behind the device. I can use whatever Servos you would like. On my buiId I am using 45kgcm brushless Servos by 9imod. They are not the quietest but they are strong and have less deadband jitter than the brushed 35kgcm ones also by 9imod which I also tested.

  • I can print just about any 3D printable accessories, it’s super cheap for me

  • I am capable of modelling parts, additions, and mods, if this could be useful to you, let me know. (Like a custom receiver, for example?)

Questions:

  1. Would you be interested in buying from me?

  2. Would only be interested in the core device, or would desk mounts / onahole receiver mounts be important to you? Which features are most important to you?

  3. Would the USB power supply not being included deter you?

  4. What price would you be willing to pay for the device? / What would you consider a “good deal”?

Hoping for a lot of feedback!

  1. Absolutely yes, just need it to be not priced too much higher than it would cost for me to just have the parts shipped and 3D printed separately and assembled by myself.
  2. Desk mounts and onahole receivers would definitely be on my needed list, since I’m trying to move from a defective Handy to a home-built OSR2+
  3. Not really, those are cheap on Amazon at least in my area
  4. Good deal would be below €100, that would be ABSURD and way too good, but 120 ~ 135 would still be reasonable, anything 135 ~ 150 defeats the purpose and I’m better off using my own 3D Printer

Thank you for the post, looking forward to see how things move, and hopefully you manage to make a good buck from all us users ::D
