My review of OSR2+ as a VAM main enjoyer:
Ordering:
The ordering process was super straightforward, Vespera provided a clear list of accessories with photos, so I just picked everything I wanted, including a power adapter. And when i received it even has a dial for voltage control.
Packaging:
The packaging was outstanding: everything arrived perfectly protected with plenty of bubble wrap, silica gel packets for moisture control, and even a printed setup guide included in the box. For a hobbyist builder, the level of care here is honestly on par with (or better than) many professional companies. It really shows how much thought goes into every detail.
Setup:
Setup was incredibly simple. Vespera sent me a personalized video guide via DMs along with step-by-step instructions, and he was super responsive whenever I had questions or needed clarification. Everything came together quickly and without any hassle. It’s clear Vespera knows his stuff inside and out, his experience shines through in how smooth the whole process is.
My experience:
I’ve had the chance to own and use both an SR6 (build by someone else) and now an OSR2+ (this one hand-built by Vespera), and I have to say: for my setup and preferences, the OSR2+ is the clear winner. It’s been an absolute game-changer, especially since I spend most of my time in Virt-A-Mate.
Right off the bat, the build quality from Vespera is perfect, everything feels solid, precise, and thoughtfully assembled. The device tracks animations incredibly well and surprisingly almost real time sync in VaM. If you’re into the more rhythmic, dancing-style animations (creators like ANJBGO, AlpacaLaps, Trashinator, abc tits), the OSR2+ nails it. The pitch and roll add the right amount of realism and variety to make those hip movements, grinds, and flows feel spot on. I actually find that for some reason it syncs a lot better than my SR6 (which died when vam physics exploded during a scene i’m thankful to be alive).
Comparing it directly to the SR6 I used to have: the extra axes on the SR6 sound impressive on paper (and they do add more movement), but in practice, for the VAM content I enjoy, they didn’t bring much extra to the table in terms of feel. In fact, the wider range often led to exaggerated motions that felt unrealistic or even uncomfortable (like creating huge gaps or angles no human could realistically maintain unless you’re built like a doctor, or an astronaut, or a plumber, or a mechanic, or… ). The OSR2+ strikes a much better balance: plenty of dynamic motion where it counts, but it stays grounded and believable. No unrealistic extremes. For VAM users especially, this makes it feel more immersive rather than gimmicky.
One standout feature is the passive cooling. I ran extended tinkering sessions (6-7 hours straight while testing configs and scripts), and the servos stayed basically room temperature the whole time. No noticeable heat buildup at all, even under load. That’s impressive engineering, quiet, efficient, and reliable without any extra fans.
Conclusion:
Overall, from start to finish, the experience was fast, professional, and personal. OSR2+ from Vespera has exceeded my expectations in every way. It’s responsive, accurate, and just plain fun to use with VAM. If you’re mainly into VAM/games and want something that delivers precise, natural-feeling motion without unnecessary complexity, I highly recommend it.
P.S. I’ll let Vespera handle posting pics of my unit in his usual high-quality gallery next month when he opens the next batch. I might have the sharpest-looking one yet, just saying
