So I received an Handy 2 Pro today for an insanely good price (208€). I thought this had to be a scam, but it actually seems legit and the packaging was sealed with a plastic wrap and hygiene seal.
Manufacturing date is 2026-01-24. Firmware was updated to 4.2.2.
Model number 4, variant 0, battery driver H2 (2).
Now there´s some strange behaviour and I´m not sure if this is normal or whether the device is faulty:
When it arrived the battery was at 0 percent, but it turned on and moved. Charged it for a few hours with a 65 W PD charger but the device info in the app never said charging complete.
There seems to be no charging indicator whatsoever when plugging it in. It only briefly shows the battery percentage when turning it off (not when unplugging).
When charging “Power Good” in device info sometimes rapidly changes from true to false.
When unplugging it at 100% (charging still says incomplete) and 17,2 V battery voltage, the percentage immediately jumps to 92% and 16 V.
Right after I unplugged it, I turned it to max speed without load and the percentage increased incrementally to 100% and the voltage to 16,3 V.
After around 1h of light to medium usage under load the battery percentage still says 100% while the voltage remains at 16,3 V.
All this looks like the battery isn´t calibrated at all, so maybe it will sort itself out with time.
Did anyone have a similar experience and can offer some insights?
Maybe @handyAlexander can help.
I received my handy 2 pro today as well and seem to be experiencing the exact same behavior. Mine would not charge at all before I plugged into a 65W PD charger, instead showing error LED blinking corresponding to “overheated battery” (straight out the box). Now it’s been charging for a while and seems overall ok, but the app shows the same info yours is. I can’t yet confirm the 100% behavior, but it did stop charging at one point, with display showing “error” over a battery icon. Hope it is a software glitch.
I’ve had tons of issues with the Handy 2 Pro. I’m on my 3rd. Got replaced through warranty. And now the Handy 2 Pro says the charging source is too slow and only charges at ~4V compared the suggested 20V. Using numerous kinds of chargers and cables and no fix. Even tried using the fast charger for sale by them.
Good news everyone.
After maybe 1h of additional use the battery went down to 84 % and 15,8 V.
It is also taking a charge. I will deplete the battery and hopefully it was just a calibration issue all along.
At this pace this will probably take another week or so.
