OSR2 Handy Sleeve Adapter for Stock Receiver

Before I made my own version I did actually print the one from this thread The Handy Strap Mount For OSR2 - 3D Printing - Anyone Want? - #16 by TheHandyman , but found that for my tastes it was too flimsy that it came out too loose for the stock OSR2 receiver.

Two revisions later I came up with this:

This was designed around the True Grip Gen 2 sleeve. I think it should also work the original sleeve.

Improvements in my opinion:

  • Ribbed inside to add friction
  • Slots shorter to prevent the 4.5cm wide strap itself sliding vertically as much (also an issue on the original Handy)
  • When twisted into place into the receiver, aligns better with the body of the OSR. It’s still 2-3 degrees off from prefect, but close enough so where you can more easily align things.
  • Slots merge upwards at 45deg so that it can be printed without using supports
  • Two rabbit ears for you to add a 2.5cm elastic band. This can be easily sown by hand. Likely something else could also be used there. You can also optionally not use it or cut if off when printing if you don’t want to waste material

Print instructions:

  • Print standing up as pictured
  • Print at any quality, I used the DRAFT quality preset
  • Print with bed adhesion support, I prefer the Snug type
  • The tabs that screw into the OSR2+ receiver need to be filed down on the sloping edge. A bit annoying but you’ll get the prefect fit.
    • Higher quality printing presets might not need this if the layer steps are not as pronounced.

Hope this helps someone. The handy sleeve has so far given me the best OSR2 experience.
