OSSM support on intiface

Does anyone know if there is support coming for ossm on intiface soon? only being able to use the web player they have is kindof limiting.

Support is coming, but sadly it has only speed control, and not positional. From the looks of it is not that hard to support it though.

is weird they chose to just do speed control and not position when they already have a way to control it entirely on the ossm site. i know this is likely just about safety, but honestly i cant figure out why the ossm side hasnt just put the limits on their own control side and then allow intiface to control the position and speed within those limits

The latest firmware has good support for stroke, depth, and speed, if I had owned the device I would’ve tinkered with it a bit to set the limits. Right now I’m just eyeing on it.

i managed to create a bridge you can hookup to MulfiFunPlayer and OSSM but with the Sauce firmware so ossm connects via webhooks. thanks to mfp you can even play vr videos synced with funscripts and since its over wifi, it should be a bit more ā€œdetailedā€ i guess? If anyone would like to try it out, let me know

What do you mean by sauce firmware?

OSSM Sauce, custom ossm firmware

it has its own app that connects to ossm but with the bridge its not needed at all. and updating the firmware is very easy, only connect ossm to the pc and at the bottom of the website (first link from here) u pick ā€œOSSM Sauce Firmware v1.4.3ā€ and flash it, after that all you need is to (while still connected via this website), click on logs button and input wifi ssid and password and thats it basically, ur ossm connects to the wifi and can connect to webhooks

Does the custom fw still support Bluetooth like the current main fw? Or does it disable BT ?

That’s the way. You can set the OSSM Sauce App to ā€œTCodeā€-Bridge-Mode and then connect it to intiface directly, giving you position control.

it just doesn’t use the bluetooth at all

u’re right

Hi.
Even if i’m new here and I know you’ll be cautious about that, I’ve made an app able to synchronize Heresphere with a funscript and the original R+D OSSM firmware.
No intiface needed.
No Multifunplayer needed.
I need people to test this and give feedbacks.
Source code is available so you can build it yourself. The original installer .exe will install Electron+chromium dependancies, that’s why there a weight difference between source code and final app. Scan it with anti virus, drag and drop in an AI of your choice, no malicious inside.

Thanks, I will test it. Looks good. I would put in your docs how to turn on the time server in heresphere though, I had to search for it

okay, so first test, it doesnt seem to be following the safety rules, and when you pause it goes to full extend.

also, just as a side comment (and maybe feature request), the basic OSSM mechanical limits settings are stupid af. they make no goddamned sense. is it possible to have a setting to just override those with a software control instead? i just want to set minimum and maximum depth as a percentage of rail. (which is how every other device works). this would basically scale any number they have in the script down to the new manually entered range, so instead of a 0 going to zero it might go to 10% rail and then a 100 might go to 80%

i think that would make it much easier to use and be quite a lot more obvious how the safeties work.

you can leave the maximum speed, acceleration, buffer and time offset settings… though given the range of the time offset settings in the default fw, you might be better off doing the time offset yourself in sw too.

Heads up, any time you want info on intiface, it would probably help to ping me since I’m the only dev on it.

As for OSSM support: The major issue here has been lack of consistent, standardized protocol. We keep getting messages about firmware and new protocols and what not but nothing seems to materialize in a way that we can easily implement. We’ve at least got something in now, but we’re still kinda waiting on some sort of standard to come out of the community (Ideally just a tcode mapping)

usually their developers/support are helpful. is that not something you could ask them about directly?

Yeah R&D/KM are great communities.

That said, as a DIY project, this is up to them to document and disseminate, not me to have to go find out.

that is true. though given what i’ve seen them be doing on youtube, it seems they care more about waveform generation and think funscripts are an afterthought… which is… an odd choice.

my thought is that if more people express interest in funscripts that might change.

Funny thing is, funscript is kind of an afterthought for me too, my goal is real time interactive control for VR virtual world integration (VRChat, Basis, etc). But yeah, I am at least keeping an eye on OSSM and do plan on supporting it once things are ironed out, just don’t have a lot of time to dig into helping there.

Kinda sad seeing as it’s the best sex machine specs wise.
