opera gx gaming browser has a built in vpn that is free, that still sucks though that you lost access. You are the goat of VR video conversions so its a shame to see this happen. I dunno what other alternatives there are to spankbang. i guess it would just have to be mega links for the most part.
Alright, not a fan of ProtonVPN free, can’t choose where to connect from and it screws with other services like Netflix plus super slow.
@dondle , I DO like the Opera GX browser, it allows me to at least some what choose where to connect from so my netflix stays the same, don’t know how its going to affect my DL/UL speeds yet so I’ll have to get back on that, so thanks for that recommendation.
As far as Mega goes, once again I only do free and mine is FULL plus it sucks when a creator makes a script then pulls the MEGA without updating the post so we just get a bunch of bumps.
I’m UK based and torrenting stuff is not allowed and enforced over here. If you dont use a VPN you get letters from your ISP and can get banned by your ISP in theory.
Personally I use NordVPN and have for a few years. While it sucks to pay for something that I never used to have to worry about I kind of see it as a necessity nowadays.
VPN’s do also help protect you from some of the internet nasties when used with your antivirus software as well.
I was over at Virginia for work about 3 weeks ago and they were doing the same thing but pornhub decided to just not allow the site to be accessible in that state instead. Crazy good thing I don’t reside there.
I use Nord for all my local sports blackouts. Gotta clear cookies every once in awhile when I forget to connect to the VPN servers on those sports sites but no issues with it outside of that
Gotta say this is a quintessential NOPE. I personally applaud Spankbang and Pornhubs decisions here. If data is collected IT WILL BE USED/HACKED. There is no way to tell what future “use” the information will have. The internet is there as long as there is electricity somewhere in the world. (Redundancy done good.)… dont ask about the Utah Data Center… (check wikipedia)
The religious zealots who enacted this legislation were very short sighted. Time to start using a vpn as others have suggested and changing the political realities where you live, maybe even starting a “free the porn” political party.
Agreeing on Pixeldrain. It is a really good website for alternative hosting. user @Ratattack15 told me about it on another topic. It works really good.
Especially if u dont own a MEGA account or just refuse to make an account there.
So I have two things to say, first is that I don’t know why spankbang was even used as much as it has ended up being since there’s other better sites for bitrate and quality with one of them being pornhub. However pornhub is very unstable to expect anything not originally owned or not too extreme fetish wise to stick around while being annoying sometimes to download from. This means that both sites really aren’t the best to host videos to stream and well…if your sharing links for scripts…why not use file hosting instead of streaming sites? If it’s for previews then well as said already link to the OG videos or use gifs to show a bit of the action.
Now with what should become the “staple” sites to use for file hosting will always change as I started off in the time when mediafire was safe to use and zippyshare wasn’t known that much nor was keep2share. That’s all changed as some may know now.
WeTransfer did seem to be good but soon implemented a 2gb upload limit without accounts and then has made it worse with files expiring no matter what after 7 days.
Gofile was recently the new golden child but it’s speeds and stability ontop of weird removals have made me feel like it’s more like a last resort.
Mega has been around as long if not longer than mediafire I think and I have no idea how they’ve not gotten better at zapping stuff faster than they do though I hate their speed limitations being so much in this day and age especially with their size. (Your guaranteed to get banned from it after an point if too popular)
Currently now as a result for freely transferring it’s Pixeldrain in my mind even after some recent changes where you get 5 gb no speed limit which after those 5 gb’s your speed is limited to 1 mbs. Meanwhile copyright hunters don’t know about the site…yet…they will eventually, also files stay for 2 months if no activity and uploading speed seems unlimited.
Side note
Side note there is sites like https://workupload.com/ and https://mixdrop.co/ but I haven’t had to turn to them yet but they’ve been around for around Gofile’s time if not a bit more. (mixdrop does have an anti copyright notice on it’s site but it seems poorly enforced usually)
Side note aside file hosters will sadly always rise and fall while really the only way to keep files alive and shared around that I’ve found is torrenting but that can be brought down without the access being watched. (I’ve only ever joined private torrent sites and quickly downloaded and deleted public’s due to risk)
As a result I feel that if torrents were to ever be used on this site it would be put on the regular user level or an newly added user level (if one can be made) with strict requirements for people to seed a certain amount per month (as in be actively seeding a certain amount of torrents every month)
Porn industry is sadly too taboo at it’s base level so that means anything built on it has to be kept further in the dark.
This may come to a disappointment but we cant tailor everything to a small demographic.
I personally hold the position they you could use a VPN. I get why this may be annoying or inconvenient, but asking everyone else to tailor to your predicament is just as unfair as your government for being dystopian.
All this talk of VPNs is great, but what is happening to the sites themselves? I was an enthusiastic user of Spankbank with lots of great content uploaded daily. And often full length videos. Now a lack of content, and what there is comes in at 3 min or so. From spending 40 min or so on the site a few days a week, now I check it in under a minute and move on. Hence I see few ads. Surely they are ruining their business model? what is going on with these sites? Yes, take down videos if you get a DCMA notice, but let them be put up in the first place.
Add Texas to the list of states this is happening in. As for "stop using until they stop blocking "?..THEY WON’T STOP BLOCKING. I had an account on Spankbang.com that , thanks to this stupid “law” , I’LL NEVER SEE AGAIN!!! I uploaded quite a few EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND videos on that site to make them easier to access…Now , It’s all for nothing.
commercial VPNs can see and log everything you do on the internet, that includes but is not limited to: - DNS requests - visited sites, hosts you connected to - unencrypted data packets
even if they claim that they donb’t log any activity you have no way to check if they are telling the truth.
A famous VPN provider (not going to mention their name to avoid legal trouble) got 2TB of logs leaked despite the fact that they claim to not log anything.
use a PROXY server instead, there are a lot of free proxies and you cazn choose to route only a browser’s traffic thru it, meaning that your entire activity still goes thru the regular network path.
99.999% of people DO NOT need a VPN and could achieve the same result with a PROXY
Your profile is still on Spankbang, just use a vpn and you should be fine. They’re really cheap. Like, ‘I only use it to bypass Mega’s download quotas and it’s still worth it for me’ cheap. And I’m a frugal guy.
Also, I have family in Texas and may have to pack my own porn if I visit. Thanks for the heads up!
Spankbang has a stupid implemention of this new law. You need to COMPLETELY logout and delete all cookies… THEN connect to a vpn and login. Once you do that you dont have to be on a vpn to access spankbang as long as you never log out again.
if you can bother buying and installing a commercial VPN then you can bother setting up a proxy in your browser, it takes 5mns and it’s often cheaper/safer/faster than commercial VPNs.
there is no excuse to justify using a commercial VPN, nobody needs that except the 0.0001% of people who have extremely specific needs. and it’s almost always achieved thru a non commercial VPN, which is by design the whole point of it in the first place.
the whole VPN protocol is NOT designed for commercial use
it is designed to access a Local Network thru an encrypted tunnel, which also changes the routing path of your sent packets and of course your IP when you’re behind a NAT.
if your sole goal is to change your IP (and mayube add encryption) a proxy can do exacly that without routing your entire data stream thru servers that surely record everything you do
its not a “wannabe black hat” thing, it’s common sense to use the right tools for the right job
