ScriptPlayer+ 0.2.2 – Fullscreen UX, A-B Loop, Thumbnails & Script Improvements

This update was slightly delayed due to an issue with the development environment.
(No impact on the source code or the player itself.)

This version focuses on incorporating as much user feedback as possible.

v0.2.2 is a major update that improves fullscreen UX, adds A-B looping, timeline thumbnails, script handling improvements, random stroke enhancements, reset options, and file management features.

:desktop_computer: Fullscreen UX Expansion

Expanded fullscreen functionality to allow most features to be used without leaving fullscreen.

  • Added left drawer

  • File list access

  • Script list / variant selection

  • Current script actions:

    • Copy path

    • Open folder

    • Reload

  • Device status / settings access

→ Most features are now accessible directly in fullscreen.

:clapper_board: Timeline Thumbnail Preview

Added hover thumbnail preview on the timeline.

→ Makes it easier to find specific moments quickly.

:repeat_button: A-B Loop

Added A-B loop functionality.

  • Set start / end points

  • Manage loop list

  • Added shortcut bindings

→ Allows repeating specific segments.

:computer_mouse: Script Drag & Drop Improvements

Improved script drop behavior.

  • Automatically applies to current or matching media

  • Prompts selection if multiple matches exist

→ Script assignment flow is now smoother.

Added an option to fill empty sections of scripts automatically.

  • Fill gaps using random strokes

  • Minimum gap length setting

→ Playback feels more continuous and natural.

  • Added Intiface settings reset

  • Added full app settings reset

→ Easier recovery from broken configurations.

Improved file handling and stability.

Right-click options:

  • Open file location

  • Move to trash

Also:

  • Improved stability when deleting currently playing files

  • Fixed issues where deletion could break playback state

→ File management is more reliable.

Awesome update, thanks for all the new features

One small issue is when using the fit function when not in fullscreen, it will cut off the top of the video (probably due to the calculation not factoring in the timelines in the UI)

Also if the player can remember the fit option, so when opening a new video it will auto apply!

You’re right. FIT currently uses a cover-style layout to fill the player area, so when the timeline or other non-fullscreen UI reduces the available video height, the video can be cropped more than expected.

I’ll adjust the auto-FIT behavior so it uses the actual visible video area and re-checks when the player layout changes, especially when timeline/heatmap UI is visible.

Also, remembering the FIT preference makes sense. I’ll add a setting so the player can keep the FIT state when opening the next video instead of resetting it every time.
