I’ve been using an onahole with my Handy since I got it, but my big issue is that the size of the onahole means it flops around, and it also rubs against the Handy itself. This really isn’t ideal due to the fact that it’s a very soft onahole, so I was looking into getting something to replace it, and the SR1 2.0 came to mind while reading here, but I’ve seen people bring up the chance of mechanical failures. What I want to know is, say I was willing to learn to fix it myself when this problem came up, would you say this would be particularly difficult? And while we’re at it, is the twist module and mount really worth the extra 100 bucks? I used the Handy laying down exclusively, so it never really crossed my mind to get a mount, and the twist module honestly seems like a gimmick, but it wouldn’t be the first time I was wrong about something.
I’m assuming you’re talking about the Funsr1 2.0 with a twist. Most of the DIY products sold in the community usually have decent tech support from the sellers, as well as random people that might know what to do.
Mount is always good, not having to hold the device and keeping it in place and just letting the machine do the work is great. That’s why most people suggest a handsfree option for devices. TheHandy in particular is not particularly great handheld since its awkward to hold.
Twist seems like a gimmick but there’s a reason that its the upgrade that people want for single-axis strokers the most. At this point, single-axis designs have been locked down and there’s not much else you can do with just the up/down stroke since any more degrees of movement takes you into multi-axis. Adding the twist axis is next logical conclusion if you dont want to add more arms. The next design from Tempest is literally just adding a twist-axis to his single-axis stroker: SSR2 Alpha
The best use for it is for blowjob/handjob to add a spinning motion on strokes. Having it twist in one direction on a down stroke, then spin the other way back up is a new sensation that you can’t get from normal devices. You can also just have it twist back and forth for teasing if someone designs a script for it. Worst case scenario you turn single-axis scripts into two-axis by linking the strokes up and down with specific spin directions.
Honestly rather than it be a useless gimmick, some people find it to be too much at times since it gets intense with the twist, so its an optional upgrade for multi-axis devices.
I see. All that sounds good honestly, the twist especially sounds interesting, but I’m not sure it’s 200+ bucks good, especially reading about it breaking on people 3 months in, or the belt loosening, or whatever. I’m gonna have to think about it a bit more for now, and it’s really gonna depend on how easy something like that is to fix by myself. In the meantime, I should see if I can stabilize the onahole somehow. The flopping isn’t the worst thing ever, but I really can’t have this thing rubbing against the Handy because it’s so fragile. I’m open to suggestions, if anybody has had similar issues.
I have no personal experience with the SR1 just with the twist receiver on the OSR line of devices. You’re better off just moving up to OSR or waiting for a prebuilt ssr2 once a builder starts to offer them.
tl;dr no, if you want a better device go for it or multi-axis, if you don’t or are money limited keep whatever you have
“Extra 100 bucks” is only correct if you compare with equivalent Handy, and equivalent Handy is Handy 2 with double band which is $250 vs $170 FunSR1-2.0(with twist)
(and yes twist does worth $100)
Im suprised I havent seen a 3d printer file for an adaptor from the handy to someting a little longer like what the fun sr1 has as an option for onahole. I cant recommend their SR line casue I have 3 broken collecting dust, BUT when they did work they were way better than the handy and the twist really is the only upgrade (I care about) that the handy doesn’t have.
Maybe 1/2 a water bottle/ pvc pipe something like that to put in between the sleeve and the handy’s slider? Just would have to be sure it wouldnt hurt you or the onahole.
The FUNSR 2.0 has issues. Ive had both 1.o and 2.o and both required to open up the device and fix issues that occur from regular use. The worst part is that the seller is in china so although the customer service is actually quite good, shipping the product or accesories to have it work is a pain in the ass and wallet.
There are some 3d print files for the handy that might solve your problems. A print that elongates the slider to allow for two straps is available and would prevent some of the “flopping”. There are also files that extend the strap mount outward that would help prevent the onahole from rubbing.
Unfortunately, there’s not a single repository for the designs for the H1 so you’re left searching print file sites or trying to get files from the designer. Another problem is getting them printed if you don’t have access to a 3d printer. Paying to have the files commercially printed is an option but can be expensive and they do not always turn out well.
If you’re interested you can find more information on the handy discord.
There are lots of such attachments though. Have to look for it tomorrow but a simple Google search or asking in the Handy Discord should help.
I was in your position quite awhile back. I got sick of trying to come up with mods and cobble around with making various off the shelf parts work. I dove into the OSR community and found a great bunch of people that are mechanically talented and friendly. These days I think I enjoy building and tinkering just as much or more as using the devices. So long story short, if any part of you feels like you think it might be interesting to jump into 3d printing and repairing and learning… i feel the time is perfect. Goodluck on your quest.
I think I’ll look into this, though I don’t know how much success I’ll have without a 3D printer. Maybe I could pay someone else to do it for me, I don’t know, I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.
I use one of these extended sliders that allows for double straps. It does indeed help with a lot of the larger sleeves. The floppy problem was what made me give it a try.
There is also these from user @Abdulis. I am using an older version of his extended slider, as well as one of his hands free mounts. They work quite well. I have not tried the sleeve adapters yet, but plan to in the future. I have heard good things.
Here is a link straight to one on his Etsy store as well that you don’t have to print yourself.
One more link to a newer version of the extended slider design of his: Teleport - Automated 3D Printing & Fulfillment by Slant 3D
Honestly saved my ass man, I really wasn’t sure how I was gonna do this without a 3D printer, and I know I wasn’t gonna buy a 3D printer just for this.
