Perhaps it’s my imagination, but I’m sure I have noticed a trend over the past year or so, that an increasing number of paid scripts are not specifying the length of the video/script in the description. This does not usually affect free scripts because the Eroscripts heatmap plugin includes the duration information in the generated heatmap image.
When the length is not included, one has to go try to get the linked video, which is not always a free source, or there is some other barrier that hinders getting the video. I for one don’t want to have to go looking off the eroscripts site to work out whether or not it is worth my time to download the video and pay for the script.
I know the length is included in the script post template, but this seems to be increasingly omitted from finished script posts. Respectfully, please can we do something to encourage scripters to include length/duration in their posts. It can only improve the quality of the site.
The length tag is required though specific duration isn’t.
I agree that paid scripts specifically should include certain attributes about a script for a user to make an educated purchasing decision.
Is there anything you can think of that should be included besides the duration?
I think a basic heatmap (indicating speed) should be at minimum required.
There was a point in time I thought to leave it up to voting with your wallet, but over time I realize there is the pressure of if there’s a particular scene you want and those details are missing you might bite the bullet and risk it.
I think this type of heatmap reveals too much info about the script, and could risk someone re-creating the script without purchase. I think instead we enforce a speedmap only version.
I think nearly all scripters do include a heatmap of some kind, so this isn’t generally a problem.
Some way to produce a standardized speed only heatmap based on the auto-generated plugin would be great as this would include all the required information. But this is something that would need to be developed as Eroscripts cannot be storing the original paid scripts to generate those heatmaps dynamically during page loads.
But in the short term at least, just ensuring the duration is included in descriptions would be a start.
