SSR1PCB - Motor overheat

Hello—I have a home-built, working SSR1PCB toy. I’ve replaced the motor once because it overheated and melted the case. I added the fan modification Tempest provided, but the motor still got extremely hot, and the screws holding the PCB in place came loose due to the plastic melting. This makes me think there is some other issue. Any ideas?

SSR1 Beta - A much needed update!

What does that mean? The motor is just overheating seldomly but then even without movement. I suspect the startup sequence when the adapter is at lowest point and then works against the wall before releasing. ( I don’t use the hall sensor any more as it would complicate the device I designed). I asked @Khrull to please add a feature to his firmware to just make the device start from the lowest adapter point instead of the tensioning but he did not like the idea.

I just finished building the unit and was testing with MFP 1.33.1 and an SLR connection to a quest 3. Once I got it connecting and working I left it connected while working on another project. I don’t know exactly how long I left it, 20-40 minutes maybe. The motor was hot enough to melt the PETG. In breif simple tests before MFP, I used Ayva. I did not leave it connected long enough to observe the motor over heating with Ayva. I’m using Release-esp32doit-devkit-v1-bldc,

Does turning around the 3 pin motor connection help?
