There aren’t any others that use mpv as far as I know. And scriptplayer is kinda broken for me with fw4 at the moment. I totally get not supporting DRM though, someone should break that DRM.
Speaking of mpv, It would be nice if you could use your own mpv config file (I already have a complex mpv config file and some custom hotkeys, etc). Is there a place to put a config file or is it packaged in a way that you can’t?
You should be able to just create an mpv.conf in the same directory as syncopathy.exe and will be loaded. However I can’t guarantee everything working. custom shortcuts and most settings will only work with the external player. If you do use the embedded mpv player you must not override the vo option. It must be set to vo=libmpv for the embedded player to work.
These are the defaults that I’m setting syncopathy/lib/mpv.dart at 46adc47794503436ab5fea4f7168a066d403da10 · ofs69/syncopathy · GitHub so if you change the settings for loop-file
, keep-open
or add back the ability to close the window you’ll break things.
Don’t get me wrong - the random button is never going to wear off. I just meant that when you click it, the spinner comes up before it plays anything. Make it as instant as picking a video is all I meant.
I love the idea of shuffle play and playlists.
Is it all you or do you have help at all?
me, myself, I and gemini.
it’s honestly not been that much work but something I’m only able to spend a few hours on every so often.

Sorry had to create another build please ditch v1.0.5+6 and get v1.0.6+7.
I noticed some regressions like there was some stutter on the handy whenever a new batch of actions was sent this should be fixed again in v1.0.6+7.
There was a bug with the stroke range slider which is fixed.
There’s also new UI for the metadata filter.
The issue where playback couldn’t be started from the external player is also resolved.

Just wanted to say that this program is top-tier. Been using it for a couple of weeks. Thanks for all of your work on it!

I really love this program. It’s the only thing that I have used the last couple of months.
I hadn’t checked for any updates until a day or two ago and had a couple of questions. The first is that when I try to use the internal mpv player, I get sound, but no video. It works fine using the external video player though. The other is that when I press the start playlist it adds all of my videos to it.
Thanks for a great program.
The internal player should display the video in the player tab. If not that’s odd.
The start playlist button takes all videos currently displayed in the media library. By using the filters or search you can control which videos end up in the playlists. I currently have no plans to make this more sophisticated
Thanks for getting back to me. That confuses me too. I would think that the video would either work in both or neither. And thank you for the explanation on how the playlist button works. Much appreciated.
I’ve had issues with some VR videos not playing back smoothly with the embedded player but playing perfectly fine with the external one. So the embedded player has issues for sure.
Personally I prefer the external one.
Sounds good. I’ll stick with the external player too. While I have you here I had one more quick question. How do you add a video to a category. I used to be able to do it by right clicking the video. Now when I right click I get options to open either the video or script folder, or to delete the script and video, and to regenerate the thumbnail. Thanks again for a great program and all of your help.
I removed the old behavior. You have to press and hold on a video. This will trigger the multi select this way multiple videos can be added or removed to categories.
linux version:
Non-C locale detected. This is not supported.
Call ‘setlocale(LC_NUMERIC, “C”);’ in your code.

ugh I only ever tested the linux build on windows under WSL2. not going to lie I don’t want to look into this right now
No rush, I just wanted to check out the software. I have working alternatives…
