Hello, after more than a year of using The Handy, I feel the need to try more complex stimulations. In particular, the twist (rotation) feature is something I would really like to see on the market, but at the moment it doesn’t exist.
On the company’s official Discord it was mentioned some time ago that nothing like this is currently available or in development (if I well understood). So I was wondering if there is any chance that a third‑party manufacturer could create an accessory compatible with both the first version of The Handy and the new one, maybe as an add‑on, in order to implement twisting and finally allow the use of multi‑axis scripts.
Does anyone know if any independent producer is working on this? Is there hope that this feature might arrive in the future?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can share information or experiences.
So for clarity’s sake you’re actually talking about Twist and not Roll. No one uses roll to describe spinning the sleeves since they’re using actual scientific terms to describe movement along a plane iirc.
For the funscript community, pitch and roll are the extra axises that the OSR2 has that add tilting left/right and tilting forward/back. Surge and Sway(added by the SR6 line) is lateral movement(left/right) and longitudinal(forward/back).
I do not build devices and I only know so much from researching the devices but it would be relatively complicated to build an accessory for just twist. And its a niche within a niche so the demand won’t be that high. Its unlikely an independent company would make an accessory for a device that they don’t own the rights to. At best you’d have someone in the DIY community doing it but at that point they’d be better off just making the OSR/SR6.
Feasibility wise: You can’t spin the entire device, so you’re building a twist receiver for the handy form factor. And twist receivers are currently not compact, so it would be bulky given what goes into making it work. It would need a connection(wireless or wired), power(wired or battery) and a motor/servo.
Handy 1 probably couldn’t handle it given that it struggles with too much weight. And given there are no ports on the device other than power, you’d have to connect wirelessly to get connection and you’d need another wire hanging off for power or battery power. So Handy1 is probably off the table for a twist receiver.
Handy 2, if the port can be used for data on top of power then you could maybe connect a twist receiver. But the receiver itself would still be bulky cause it needs a separate motor/servo to spin the sleeve.
Honestly, if you currently want more complex stimulations your best bet would be to buy a multiaxis device, Funsr1 for just twist, OSR2 for pitch/roll and twist, SR6 for 6 degrees of movement and twist.
Tldr: You’re talking about the Twist Axis, and its very improbable/impractical. Its not impossible but there’s many reasons why there are no current plans
@lamp thx fo your help, I edited my title/text.
I feel a bit discouraged at this point hoping for a twist add on, I was genuinely believing it was a very necessary and upcoming project since for me the simple up and down movement in not enough expressive, it lacks of creativity compared to the performances seen on screen. The gap is so huge for me that the whole experience feels often ruined by the lack of features in the device I use.
Its not impossible for there to be one or for someone to work on one, just highly improbable. Cause the first thing to remember is these devices are niche in nature and this market is small. Most of the community got by with just the single-axis strokers even though multi-axis has been around for a while. So niche within a niche. Its an addition, rather than being necessary.
If its that much of an issue you’re better off actually buying a device designed for more degrees of movement/immersion, check out @Vespera, @g90ak, CraftyHandy, etc etc. I don’t remember all of the sellers at this point.
OP said that they couldn’t find anything/they said it wasn’t in development. Old threads say there is something but it might not be out even next year? No one has really ever posted links to announcements or posts by the dev so idk if any of this is true. So if they are working on something it’ll be a while.
It is on the KS page: “The ClickOn system is not just for ease of use, but also to enable community-driven projects. We’ll be launching a range of ClickOn-compatible products, including rotating sleeves, pressure sleeves, vibrating sleeves, and much more.”
Handy masturbator is currently the only HW on the platform, but this will change over the next period as we invite other HW producers and our new products to the platform.
Hi @handyAlexander can you tell us more about the Handy echo system? Would you accept a third party manufactured hardware attachment made for The handy that add the “Twist” multi axis support for example? Or are you doing any research about selling an official “Twist attachment”?
Thx for your attention
