Please help me dream up the ultimate goon-station (with a few restrictions..)
I’ve been enjoying the Handy for about 2 years now, got a fairly workable hands-free setup, but my old ass original Vive from who knows how long ago is just not worth the trouble anymore, and I feel like I’m not utilizing my resources to the fullest..
Restrictions:
Cant be a permanent installation, I’d have to put everything up after each use, so it would all need to fit in a duffel bag or something and be easy to take down quickly…
I’m no millionaire, but I figure this is an investment… so overall price can add up to maybe $1-2k over time? This is something I’d build on piece by piece probably as I can get the funds..
Hands free - if I was just going to jerk myself off, I’d just do that…
Easy VR - dont want to be fiddling around with setup for 30 minutes every damn time..
Hardware/Software-wise, my PC is decently solid - Nvidia RTX 5080, 32gb RAM - so I can probably handle some robust software to get everything going…
I have a fairly decent sized local library of scripted vids - but would probably spring for a premium membership somewhere if I can get my VR setup figured out, so would love recommendations for a solid one-stop-shop for scripted vids
So far I’m thinking
Hardware:
SR6/ORS2/something multi-axis, mounted on a monitor stand on my desk, or on a belt/harness or something?
Quest VR to replace the VIVE and keep it as wireless as I can get away with (unless that’s just stupid and I should go the wired route for quality)
Fleshlights / sleeves I feel I got covered already, as long as they are compatible with the rest of the stuff
Software:
I had Stash running but it got deleted when I switched PCs, so I’m essentially starting from scratch on that front, if there are better programs out there to keep my library sorted
buttplug, funscripter, several different media players, ComfyUI/Invoke already setup if there are AI things to play with
I’d love some good games that arent overly cumbersome to setup
aaaaaaaaaand anything else that I should be thinking of? - I’d love to dream up a super robust setup to make my goon sessions fucking awesome
If this has all been answered before and I’m just missing the thread, please tell my noob ass to fuck off and get my info there lol…
As the mount its super solid and lets you adjust it easily, also works with the handy 2.
For the SR6,SRPRO group i use.
I had loads of issues with other monitor arms moving up or down when the SR6 shook to fast this one has held in place great for me the only issue is if the arm moves back and i fix that by just having the desk behind the mounting plate to make it unable to go back.
This is something what was insanely important, i use this backet to adjust the height of the SR6/PRO within seconds without tools you just mount the sr6 onto the bracket and tighten the 1 thumb screw and its in place able to adjust it up or down and it won’t change even when it shakes.
I used a index for a long time and just kept all its cables and light boxes plugged in then when i wanted to use it plugged it into the Display port cable that comes from the PC and its ready.
if you want less then a quest 3 running virtual desktop is your best bet for wireless right now.
For storage i just used the index box. i have it next to my desk close enough that while sitting at my pc i could reach down open and grab anything i need out of it “Handy with mount already attached to it, My index/Quest 3 SR6+Fleshlight” the only thing i could not fit in it was the big mount for the SR6 but i just put that next to the box.
I’m pretty easily able to setup everything for a session in a min without needing to stand or really move at all, unless i need to put the beanbag on the bed but you should have that on your bed if your using the pc at all anyways.
Start stash and wait for it to load/open while you wait mount the SR6 arm to your desk. once stash is loaded launch stash VR it normally loads instantly then finish mounting your SRPRO/SR6 Open Multifunplayer and link your SRPRO/SR6 to it also have it auto connect to Heresphere, or at the end you will need to link it manually. Then put on your Quest launch Virtual desktop and once you see your desktop launch Heresphere from the Virtual Desktop app make sure Heresphere is linked in Multifun and your ready.
And that is worst case if you have a index/any wired headset you skip needing to use virtual desktop and if you use a handy you don’t need multifunplayer. and if you just want to watch something flat you only launch stash+Multifunplayer and done.
Edit- Forgot to mention there is a bit of first time setup for everything but once you do it once you don’t really have to do it again unless you need to edit something.
So a lot of what youre asking for has been answered elsewhere probably but you actually typed out a decently well thought out post with your plans specific to you, as opposed to asking super short generic questions. So you’re gonna get more people actually answering the questions.
VR: Quest 3(Not the 3s(is weaker)) is probably the easiest option to just go with. Is standalone and you can just use it with the single-axis strokers without a PC involved if you really need it to. Multi-axis requires a multi-axis player so you would either have to do do the mirroring to play w/e is on PC on the headset. However the wireless is pretty good for the most part so its not that bad.
Note: You will be buying accessories for the Quest3 if the stock gear is as bad as the Quest2 was. Probably need a new headstrap that distributes weight more evenly, probably want a new facial interface. Batterybank required if you’re going for longer sessions wireless.
Multi-axis: Your options are basically SR6 or OSR2 as a form factor.
OSR2 has 2 more axises(tilt left/right and tilt forward/back) than TheHandy. SR6 has that plus moving the stroker laterally left/right and forward/back. Usual opinion is that going from single axis to OSR2 is a massive leap forward, OSR2 to SR6 is marginal leap forward. Still improvement but for the price increase its not that much.
They dont have to have a twist receiver, a lot of people recommend it though. Most people don’t recommend the lube. ‘suction’(is just a valve that opens or closes depending on if stroke is going up or down which create a vaccum/sucking like sensation, this basically does the same thing, you can buy the boost sleeve or just the case. I personally recommend the case because the suction does affection the sensation. Heat’s alright but not necessary.
Both of these devices require both power cable and usb cable(for data) cause they’re usually not bluetooth/wireless. I believe they’d also be too heavy for a belt/harness, VESA mounted on a monitor arm is the most suggested option.
For sellers, there’s craftyhandy, vespera or g90ak.
Shouting out @g90ak is one of the more well known OSR2 sellers(I got my machine from him). Doesn’t sell his models with twist, so you’ll have to aftermarket install that yourself(its easy). In exchange you do get access to his huge repository of scripts for just his customers. He does limited quantity drops at the beginning of the month and the middle. These are fully finished models(other sellers have a lead up time for building) so you get them within a week or so after purchase.
Games: IDK about setup but the most commons ones used with stroker integration are like Virt-a-mate or Honey Select. You can also go through the game integration category here.
Other things you can do: Cockrings to restrict bloodflow since it does affect sensation and erection length.
Prostate massager, Edge 2 has a vibrator on the massager that goes inside and on the outside so you could have 2 separate vibration scripts.
I have been keeping a few units in back-stock for people that hit me up between drops. Always welcome to shoot me a message to see what I have. And yes, I ship my orders same day via USPS priority. If you’re in the US, you can expect to get your unit 2-3 days after purchase. As a consumer I HATE waiting for stuff, and as a builder, I really am not comfortable taking money for something that isn’t being built, so I pass that philosophy onto purchasers.
This is the real slow part but with time you kind of get fast at it you just have to launch everything in order based on what your using at the time.
For example i will use the most program intense load. A quest 3 using a SRPRO/SR6
Stash–StashVR–Multifunplayer–Virtual Desktop–Heresphere
Small question, I tried this setup, but when viewing StashVR videos in Heresphere, they are picked up in Multifunplayer as 192.167.X.XX/scene/1234, instead of the proper filename.
This means Multifunplayer has no way of finding the script to it.
Those 2 folders i have there hold all my video+script, you still have to make sure they are named correctly, also make sure you have a up to date multiscriptplayer because this was fixed in a update a little while ago.
Edit- also forgot you need to turn the Stash tab on too.
