Video players not working with Handy anywhere

Honestly I’m not tech-literate enough to even know what questions to ask or what exactly the problem is, so sorry if there’s already an easy answer somewhere, but I’m trying to get any video player to work with my Handy. For the time being I’ve been putting just the script into the Handyverse local player and playing the video in a different window, but it’s a massive pain to try to sync up the video & script manually by pausing one or the other for a split second and hoping it happens to buffer exactly long enough (and worse having to do that all over again if the video buffers on its own), so really hoping there’s a fix

Browser:

I’ve tried the following in-browser players and none of them are able to start the video (blank video window, time shows as 0:00 of 0:00, clicking play button does nothing):

handyfeeling com/local-video
playground.handyfeeling com/localplayer

(Says new users can’t have more than 5 links so had to break some of them, sorry)

So far the only video player that’s consistently worked is ConnectMyHandy but since that doesn’t seem to have a way to upload videos it doesn’t help. Also, when I was first figuring the Handy out like a week ago I put a video into Handyverse and it worked perfectly fine showing video and moving the Handy and everything without even putting a funscript file in, but when I tried that same video file later the same day it didn’t do that so I put in the funscript file and it had the problem described above; no clue if it’s relevant to the issue but either way any idea what’s up with that?

HandyControl:

I’ve tried using HandyControl (1.2.3) by dragging the video & script files in, when I click the upload script button it opens the video in MediaPlayerClassic and the video plays fine, but the Handy doesn’t move and a few seconds into the video it says
“Downloading the script to Handy…”
“Script Prepare - Error - Success False -”
“Script Stop - Error - Success False -”

For HandyControl I have the server address set to https://www.handyfeeling.com/api/v1/ and custom server set to http://localhost (I followed the but idk how the server stuff works so maybe I did set it up wrong?), but when I click the “Check if Handy can reach the script host” button it says
“Downloading the script to Handy…”
“Script Prepare - Error - Success False -”

For all of the above I’ve tried using both funscript and CSV files for the script, but that doesn’t seem to make any difference. If it’d help I can send the mp4 video file, both funscript & CSV versions of the script, and the ivdb.io page I got the funscript from

Also sorry this doesn’t have the “handy” tag, I kept getting an error message saying it wouldn’t let me use that tag

Based on what I’ve read it should work.
Maybe there’s something being missed in your description.
Are you on the discord? I wouldn’t mind jumping on a call to help out.
I speak english and a little french (not great though)

What is the codec for the video? If it is HEVC/h.265 then that does not work on browsers. H.264 (ancient codec that works everywhere) or the newer AV1 codec works though.

If you have VLC you can check the codec by opening the video file. Clicking on the “Tools” at the top then “Media Information” then click on the “codec” category. It should show up under the first field as “Stream 0” “Codec”. Then see if it says H265 or something else.

Yep I’m on Discord, I’ll send you a message with my @

No clue what any of that means, sorry. If you have a link on whatever VLC is on hand though I can get it to see

Thanks. Checked and it says

Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (h264)

Then you should have no problems playing it on the browser.

I sadly dont know how to help you further.
