Step 2. (Only if you have game version 1.1 and want to uncensore)
If your game version is 1.0.1 or newer, you’ll need the uncensored assets (credit kumarin)
Download the asset pack → Extract and replace the game’s existing files in \Kinjo no Hitozuma_Data (backup the files beforehand if you want).
Step 3. Launch “Edi.exe” and connect your device(s).
You can connect the Handy directly over Wi-Fi via the key, or also use the Intiface Bluetooth connection for it, as well as other devices.
I had the same problem, but it worked when I changed the location where I run the exe file. In my case, I moved the entire game folder into the Downloads folder and it worked.
It’s so weird, I can get EDI to start and detect all the scripts without the winhttp.dll file. I’ve moved the folder all over the place and it still doesn’t work with that file still in. From what I understand it needs that file to actually interface with the game.
The winhttp.dll file is part of BepInEx, not EDI and is sometimes flagged by antivirus.
Try to re-download the latest BepInEx to replace current files and make sure your antivirus doesn’t falsely block it.
I’ve just added the whole folder for the game as an exception but the log still shows an error saying the target machine actively refuses the connection.
What intiface port are you using? Make sure it’s not set to :5000, as that’s the one used for the EDI http requests.
Are you able to launch EDI with the winhttp.dll file present now?
If it for some reason fails to start you can try moving EDI and all it’s compoments to a different directory (or download the lastest version as well as the mod standalone files) and try again from there.
I was able to get EDI to start just by replacing the winhttp.dll file from the newer BepInEX build. I’m just using port 12345. Everything connects and the game launches too. Only thing now is EDI not responding to the scenes in the game. I also noticed that the overlay that indicates EDI being active is not longer there.
Looks like the mod or BepInEx is not loading then.
Try to delete the \BepInEx\plugins folder and launch the game.
If BepInEx generates a new plugins directory, that means it’s at least working, and you should be able to place the standalone files (most importantly the mod \BepInEx\plugins\EDI-UnityMod.dll into the game directory.
If no folder is created, it means BepInEx itself fails, and you might have to double-check your files.
If anyone has a similar issue getting EDI to work with the game, you can just put all the EDI related files into a folder within the game directory. At that point you’ll just have to launch EDI and then the game. Took a while to figure that out but it was worth it, the scripts and mod are top notch!
I verified the timing as best I could by recording multiple runs and checking them frame by frame. As far as I could test, the scripts appears to stay in sync with the game.
What device are you using? If you rely on Wi-Fi, check your latency; might be a network problem.
