Yo Paradox here,
Ever since I built my osr2, i have been experiencing a thing we call in the engineering world “backlash”. It’s an issue with the actual servos and their gears which causes lost motion when the motor changes directions. Honestly I hate it. When I first built my osr2 i used them generic chinese servos, which yes they did their job and somewhat well for their price, BUT there was a lot of backlash. So I decided to upgrade to pretty reputable RC servos (brushless 9IMOD 35kg servos), and once again backlash (now uneven as one servo had more than the other). I have built a single axis stroker out of old 3d printer parts before (i did not know a DIY community like this existed back then) and I must say it felt way better in terms of there being no backlash. So I would like to know yalls opinion on this. What do yall prefer servos or bldc motors with no gearing or sum similiar.
