Just subscribed for a month to catch up on scripts and download videos/scripts that I like. Cancelled and will probably only buy individually from now on, or wait a year and repeat that.
SLR killing off Heresphere access was a big loss, that player is so much better.
I download the videos as well as the scripts. But basically, realcumber and a few others are the only scripters that interest me. AI will eventually get good enough, but it’s delusional pretending that moment is now. That said, it’s also pretty typical of tech bros to do exactly that for whatever crappy widget they’ve built. 22 TB of videos and scripts could go anywhere with me were it not for the stupidity of the Handy insisting on phoning home, but I digress.
Yep I download the scenes & scripts I like and use them through XBVR/Heresphere.
That reminds me of the other thing I don’t like about SLR/Deo, it’s really slow to navigate the scenes. Maybe my 100Mbps isn’t fast enough, but it can take a long time for a new page to load. Also nothing gets cached so if I go to another page then back it has to load again.
Tried it out for one month right after buying the handy, but I cancelled, the experience was great, I have no issues there, but the price is a killer for me, I might resub every now and then.
Still looking into ways to play community-made scripts with VR videos directly on my Quest 2 without paying but so far I’ve found it impossible. I’m genuinely baffled noone’s made such a tool yet
Take a look at this, I use XBVR and Heresphere to play local VR videos and scripts
We are greatly optimizing UI response in the app. Indeed there were problems there. Should be updated within the next one or two releases
Is there work being made in the direction of an offline mode for videos and scripts with SLR/DeoVR?
Really appreciated your feedback and sorry about price thing.
Here is some special deal for you SexLikeReal deal: Get the best VR porn discounts for 2023
Hope it works
I don’t think so. Ultimately it has to be streaming all the way.
There were discussions to have offline mode for Premium users which I wholeheartedly support, but I guess there’s no way to know if it’s a Premium user without an Internet.
We are still an indy company and greatly rely on subscription sales. We have to validate paying customers are accessing these
You could do something like github/azure does with a personal access token. User would have to first authenticate to SLR but then not have to be on the internet after that. You would still be able to make sure they are a paying customer but do not have to have continuous internet connection.
Iirc people have complained before that when they are using Internet with limited monthly transfer quota (i.e. a metered connection) streaming consumes too much of that quota. They are online but simply don’t want to use their metered connection while watching. They want the ability to download their favorite videos and watch them using local storage instead of streaming. Checking subscription is possible in that case. There are also those that have a low bandwidth but want high quality. Downloading first in slow speed with fast local playback is their preferred solution. Compare with how Netflix and other streaming services provides download options nowadays despite being a streaming only service.
that sounds like a cool workaround. let me check with the team
We are trying to address bandwidth issue in a number of ways.
Also DeoVR team is looking to boost DLNA and maybe introducing SMB support for Premium users. Will require are DeoVR sub though.
Requiring a sub for SMB lol.
Also yeah, I hope you will “boost” DLNA and not get rid of it again:

things change
This, exactly. They had the best VR porn site BY FAR until they killed it with AI scripts and PT garbage. The site is a joke now, but the tech bros in charge think the stupid gadgets are “cool” and “edgy” and “innovative” and that they are going to “redefine the medium”.
yes , when i am using deovr in quest there isnt a side menu that says “my scripts” like there is on webpage? its difficutlt to find all the scripts you have paid foir
DeoVR and SLR are different products with a separate databases. I don’t think there’s a way to merge the two.
I can think of showing local scripts folder in Deo though. Not sure if it helps
