You probably should state what device you are using.
He uses Handy he said in another thread
This I have used a lot but these days I host a stash instance and use that most of the time.
Every windows funscript player doesn’t work on Linux even with Wine, so I would recommend to use web players. They just work without any additional configuration.
For Handy, use https://funscript.io/ and it’s beta Funscript.io.
For buttplug.io devices use https://funscriptplayer.com/.
Or you can search funscript on https://faptap.net/, but there’s too much broken videos.
There’s also player on https://xtoys.net, but I haven’t tested it.
I do actually run ScriptPlayer with wine, so not 100% factual.
Found it to be the only good way of running bluetooth toy, with Intiface Desktop linux edition.
Do you have any tips on how to run ScriptPlayer with Wine? I tired installing it, but the installer crashes part way through.
I hadn’tseen funscriptplayer so that seems like a good starting point. Thanks!
Same, host your own stashapp instance and you are good to go.
I did not have any install problem. It however, took a lot of tweaking with optional packages from winetricks to get it to run, and I still couldn’t get it to display video, so I use vlc for that.
Could you please tell us what tweaks you had to do? Which packages etc were needed? Scriptplayer is one of the last things keeping me on windows!
From my ScriptPlayer wine instance, I have installed the following via winetricks
dotnet40, dotnet48, galliumnine, gdiplus, wmp11, wsh57
These were installed by trial and error, and not sure what one is actually required.
Btw… I remembered that I installed ScriptPlayer via winetricks “Run uninstaller” menu,
The name is not totally accurate, as it also gives you a “Install” button, to run Windows installer packages (.exe). You will see the dotnet and Windows Media Player parts of above components there as well.
I see that I also have some fonts active, don’t remember if these are default or not:
andale, arial, comicsans, corefonts, courier, georgia, impact, times, tebuchet, verdana, webdings.
Forgive me, but I had this working (with an exception for a wine verison that broke it) for several years now.
If someone manages to get video working as well, please share. I am fine with vlc though. Use the instruction provided on the VLC · FredTungsten/ScriptPlayer Wiki · GitHub, will work for linux version as well.
As i said, I assue Intiface Central linux version, so have no idea if direct bluetooth or Handy works properly.
