CuddleMocap - Review - STELLAR Creator and Scripter (g90ak APPROVED)

CuddleMocap
Put simply, CuddleMocap (@CuddleMocap) is one of the most amazing creators I’ve come across. I’ve been meaning to write a review for a really long time, (I think I’ve been a Patreon for a year now), but have had trouble finding words to really communicate how stellar I feel that their offering is. I’ll do my best in this review.

CuddleMocap is a creator that outputs 3 main things. VaM scenes, 2D+VR Videos, and matching funscripts. I’ll be focusing on the videos and funscripts.

Virt-a-Mate
I have a real love/hate with VaM. The love portion comes from the concept of it – a virtual playground to create and experience a huge multitude of scenes and girls. The hate portion comes from actually trying to use it. It’s super difficult and has a steep learning curve. Conceptually you think you should as easy as clicking a few buttons and poof, your dream girl is doing whatever you want. In actuality, it is SO much more nuanced and complex. Navigating model collisions/clipping, hair animation, smooth non-robotic movement, lighting, rendering settings, and more are ALL things that need to be taken into account when creating in VaM. I’m only pointing this all of this out to communicate that achieving something that is high quality in VaM is very very difficult - and that is exactly where CuddleMocap really stands apart.

Motion Capture
CuddleMocap is fairly unique in their usage of real motion capture (it’s in their name duh) as a starting point for their scenes. This foundation really sets them ahead of other VaM scenes in terms of motion fluidity and natural movement. Their VR scenes are extremely immersive as a result. If you’ve ever thought that a girl in a VaM scene looks like a clumsy Barbie, you’ll definitely appreciate the hard work put into real motion capture here.

The single downside to the real-ness of motion is that unless you’re a pornstar, it is hard to match the level of intensity and movement that so many of us have been accustomed to seeing. As a result, some may find the scenes have not as much strong or repetitive motion that they prefer. Perhaps in the future CuddleMocap can look at ways of exaggerating motion and speed, and potentially looping movement, especially towards the finish line of their videos. Or maybe they just get their mocap partner some performance enhancing drugs and let them get wild (just kidding, not recommended).

Models + Videos
When I first found CuddleMocap, most of the available content was centered around 2 models – Alana and Joni. I’m not sure if they were created by scratch or integrated from another creator, but it goes without saying that they’re fucking hot. Several of the scenes have a very Cyberpunk-esque theme to them and Alana and Joni fit right into them. They’re extremely well detailed, rivaling models created in Blender. They have skin texture and hair physics and are on a totally different level than many other VaM models that look like they’re made out of plastic.

Since then, CuddleMocap has integrated several other characters including D.Va, Samus, Tifa, Eve, and some elf chick. While they could have simply plopped in another model into an existing scene, CuddleMocap takes the time to render details, tune motion, etc. to output these “variants” in as high quality as the original scenes. I find this to be an extreme value add as revisiting an existing script, but with a fresh model, can still be fun and exciting.

All of CuddleMocap’s scenes really build on a foundation of sensuality and connection. The positions, angles, dialog, and scripts (will elaborate more later) are all focused on making you feel like you’re part of the experience and not just along for the ride. I recall literally saying out loud “holy shit” when I started up their first video. The closeness and perspective of their model usage really need to be seen to be believed. They really rival a lot of live action content in terms of immersion – something extremely difficult to do out of CGI.

Cuddlemocap has also started working with professional voice actors including PixieWillow. I didn’t find too much issue with the previous dialog, but it’s clear that they’re looking to be top-tier in every regard.

My only complaint about the videos is that some of the scenes have CRAAAAZY lighting going on. Flashing lights in the background, flashing costumes, etc. and it can sometimes detract from the scene. It does definitely create ambiance and I respect their artistic intent – definitely not a deal breaker unless you’re super sensitive to stuff like that. I will also call out that many of their videos have prominent “CuddleMocap” branding. My brain is pretty good at tuning out watermarks and I realize that piracy is a real concern for small creators, so it’s definitely an acceptable trade off for the quality of videos they’re outputting.

Funscripts
As if it wasn’t enough for CuddleMocap to put out stellar videos, they also author AMAZING funscripts. They always release device specific scripts that honor speed limits of slower devices, but the real draw is their multi-axis scripts. I’ve experienced VaM generated scripts before. While they can be extremely accurate (since they’re generated by the same engine that is making the video), I often find them very muted and boring.

CuddleMocap goes through their scripts with a fine-toothed comb, incorporating exaggeration, filler, and added motion. The result is extremely high quality multi-axis scripts that I would recommend to anyone with a mult-axis device. They’re some of the most accurate, detailed, and fun scripts (no pun intended) that I’ve come across.

Lately, CuddleMocap has produced a few videos with long non-penetrative portions (grinding, striptease, making out). It would have been a very easy choice to simply not script them, but they put in the care to author some EXCELLENT filler, following the motion of the models’ head, body, etc. to feel realistic and immersive. As a result, a lot of these non-penetrative portions of their videos are just as enjoyable as the actual sex. It goes to show how much pride they have in their creative output and want people to enjoy every moment of it.

Patreon + Discord
CuddleMocap’s Patreon is currently priced at $10 per month for access to videos and funscripts. They’re hosted externally with a members-only link. Everything is clean and organized with no crazy .zip files or hoops to jump through to download the content. Videos are also provided in both 2D and 3D versions, along with different resolutions/bitrates. It is extremely considerate on their part to provide so many options.

CuddleMocap is also very engaged with their users both on Patreon and Discord, taking suggestions and posting updates frequently. I have no complaints on either platforms that they utilize.

At this time, they have ~20 videos along with funscripts available. They seem to output about 1 per month, but may be ramping up production based on recent updates.

Conclusion + Care
As if the above wasn’t clear enough, I HIGHLY recommend CuddleMocap. Moreso, for those with multiaxis devices, I VIOLENTLY recommend them. They’re some of the best multi-axis scripts and videos I’ve come across and I frequently re-visit them time and time again due to their excellent quality.

Moreover, it really seems like CuddleMocap CARES. It’s clear that they care about the quality of videos they do – evidenced by the attention to detail on every aspect. They care about their patreons – frequently and quickly responding to questions and thoughts. They care about scripting – creating device-specific scripts as well as multi-axis masterpieces. And lastly, they care about getting better. They’re constantly looking for better ways to create, ranging from looking at new models, taking user suggestions, investing in new compute hardware, and introducing new motion capture tech. I think we’ll only see things get better from them and wholeheartedly recommend supporting them via Patreon.

See below for a link to their Patreon. I don’t get anything in return for generating any subscriptions via my review, but just wanted to bring some awareness to this fantastic creator.

Hm, looks good, just runs into one problem for me personally (that is unlikely to be addressed anywhere because the solution would be incredibly niche): It’s made in the motion-sickness safe style for VR.
I’ve found I’m pretty resistant to motion-sickness in VR. And I’ve also found that a moving passenger perspective in VR (rare as it is, can’t even remember where I found it) tickles me with a mild sense of… vertigo for lack of a better word that enhances the experience. And it enables so much more content when one participant isn’t frozen in place.
Still, I’ll probably test this out at some point.

Man love her stuff too on vr

God yes! You gotta see it in VR. SBS Videos don’t do it justice. Cuddle makes the most immersive scenes. 95% of the community made scenes are just plain bad but that good 5% are mind blowing.

It’s a lot of work to find out what’s good so here are a few of my favorites:

Free scenes from Vamurai and Shadow:

Paid scene:
Best lapdance and striptease mocaps I’ve seen from HotchicksVR:

Hair from ddaamm and Miki:

Thanks for the detailed review. It takes a little work to learn VAM but it’s still worth it.
