DeoVR and SLR issues?

Weirdest thing ever since the update to DeoVR last week. If I go to SLR, videos play fine like normal, but none of the scripts come through/do anything. HapticsConnect shows a good connection like it should, but nothing.

However, if I drop to my local files, everything works as expected. I’ve signed in/out, cleared all sessions on SLR, removed HC and re-installed as well as connected it again to SLR. There are other people on their (SLR) forum having the same issue, but no reposnse.

Curious if anyone else here is in the same boat, or by some miracle found a fix.

No answers but I remembered seeing a post that MFP also stopped working with SLR, so its def something on their end prob.

I did some investigation and it seems that in the latest deovr update (steam v15.1) the script support for Haptics Connect is purposefully disabled, DeoVR now only sends move commands directly to BLE devices. So even if MFP connects to Haptics Connect, the script wont work.

Will have to see if this is their long term plan, if it is they will probably remove script downloads from sexlikereal in the future and transition to an api similar to The Handy. I’m assuming this is in preparation for their own device release.

Solution for now is to use v14 as long as you can or downgrade from v15.
I’ll see if I can update MFP to still work with v15 or later.

Wow. If that’s the case, they’re about to have a whole lot of pissed off people.

I wish I could just downgrade, but I can’t find anyone who has copy or link, and when you see support chime in, they say they don’t have a repo of previous versions (which is 100% bullshit, unless their dev team is just that bad).

Dunno what platform you’re using, but I managed to downgrade with Oculus Downgrader. Once I was logged in, I chose option 2, deovr video streaming, then 14.9.3253. Be aware it wiped the app’s data, so I had to log back in and reenable remote control, etc.

I have actually stopped using DeoVR.
Heresphere is better in every way and never breaks on me.
The demo is free to use, just with a bit of an annoying nag.
Buy it though it’s great software

…and before I can even try doing a downgrade - guess what just had an update? Good ol’ DeoVR - now on version 15.1.3412. Fingers crossed…

Slr is becoming the apple of porn, creating now a closed off eco system controlling what script players work with it. Im really becoming completely fed up with slr. Time after time they keep removing features, pissing off their loyal subscribers. The only thing keeping me their is their ai pt, which they currently have the monopoly on and the second there is an alternative im never using slr again.

According to doublevr we are corner cases, and less than 0.1% of their toy user base, why would they care?

True, but how do you download scripts from SLR (except by buying each individual one).

FWIW - and definitely muddy waters - the ideal I believe they are pushing is to wait for HC to have their update. Still shit and yeah - big ol’ FY to everyone outside what they want off the bat.

As far as I know they want full encryption on the script communication, so even with the new HC, devices that need a unencrypted clean t-code connection won’t be supported.
