Download too much porn? Did you just downloaded the same video for the 3rd time?

Looking for a video you possibly downloaded and accidentally cleared your history?
Maybe its been forever since you last looked in your porn collection…
Or maybe you download too many of the same copy without even realizing it. Here is a simple demonstration of how fast it can look for a video you saved in your drive(s) I specified only looking for video but it can find any other type of file as well.

This helped so much. I barely found this software about a year ago.

Nice; but filename based searching can only go so far.

I use tmsu to tag my videos - using my own personal set of tags, that I am interested in. This allows me to mount my collection as a tree of folders with tag-based subfolders. To give an example:

$ tmsu mount /collection
$ cd /collection/tags
$ ls
a2m abigaile.johnson a.day.in.the.life ahegao aidra.fox ...
$ ls | wc -l
574

…that last line means there are 574 different tags. So, say I navigate to videos of Abigaile Johnson:

$ cd abigaile.johnson
$ ls
anal
angel.rivas
bg
bgg
bggg
blowjob
blowjob.sandwich
class.3some
creampie
cums.many.times
dido.angel
erica.fontes
female.heaven
files
green.eyes
heels
japan
lesbian
lesbian.with.male
male.heaven
porn.fidelity
romantic
solo
sunny
tiffany.thompson
woodman

…I can now e.g. play her scene with Tiffany Thompson:

$ mpv tiffany.thompson/files/*

So this system - tmsu - allows you to use any tags you want, and then automatically creates a dynamic folder tree that allows “combined” queries; a dynamic database of sorts.

Ergo… Perfection :slight_smile: These are just folders, so you can of course use your favourite program to navigate - you don’t have to cd/ls the way I just showed above. It just so happens that I am a minimalist sort of guy :wink:

This seems really nice for quick filesystem modifications, especially for additional files like funscripts. I use deeply nested folders to organize so searching manually can be daunting iwl.

If anyone uses stash there’s also a built in dupe checker that runs against the videos phash.

It’s really handy as you can essentially scan the entire library, and stash will auto mark the video as having multiple versions in your filesystem. You can also view the media info like codec, bitrate, filesize, etc. to compare which one you want to keep.

You can see below after I copy pasted a video in my library and scanned, stash marked the File Info tab with a (2) to denote 2 videos for the same scene. There’s also a quick delete/re-assign button.

Example1

This is really only good with videos though, if you have duplicate funscripts or other filetypes it isn’t really that helpful.

Cmon man…it literally says it on the website on what Everything program does. You are way better at programming than i am but the program is called everything for a reason not just videos any file type…

I can see how it can look confusing due to my spacing, my bad.

This was in reference to Stash, not the voidtools program. I specifically said in the first sentence that the program you recommended would actually be useful because it handles other filetypes.
