Open-Source Firmware

I don’t see any source anywhere. Is this opensource or source-available?

Hello Vlad, compiled app and source code will be available for tier members. I will change the Open-Source part from the description. Thanks for your feed back o7.

I understand you are trying to make some money, but I have to warn users about the possibility of malware.
The fact the source isn’t freely available means you could trivially hide something in that APK and without giving you money we have no way to properly audit the app.

Hi Vlad,
I agree with you regarding your concerns, I will also add android project source files for tier members. So they can check the source code and compile the APK themselves. If you have better solution please feel free to share your ideas.

giving away the source code to only paying customers feels super weird tbh. You can’t have the cake and eat it too, either make it open source fully or closed source fully. If you straight up encourage people to pay to get the source code, i see no issue with encouraging people to leak the source code to confirm authenticity. Simple as that, the open source community is built upon mutual trust, not gatekeeping information.

This is why I made comment about source-available.
opensource has a specific definition. which this was not.
They have corrected it. You’re still entitled to your opinion but they did fix their post.

I’d like to clarify that I’m not really selling the source code itself; I’m selling a complete solution that includes an Android app and an ESP32 program. The only reason I provide the source code for the Android project is for transparency, so anyone can verify there’s no malicious content.

For the ESP32, sharing the source instead of just a .bin file simplifies flashing with common tools like Arduino IDE or PlatformIO. In fact, most of the ESP32 code is from another source that already sells it; I’ve only added a small portion of my own code. I hope this clears up any misunderstandings about what’s actually being sold.

Your intentions are nice but unless the source is available prior to sale then your ARE selling the source code.

Honestly I’m confused as to what this software even is. (EDIT: I think I have an rough idea now from writing all of this and jigsaw-puzzling it together, the name does not help either since I thought this would be monster related)
Because as far as I can tell it enables you to control an multi-axis device (does that mean T-code specific or ALL devices?), it can use funscripts for movement, has Bluetooth usability, you can change it freely after you buy it.
Then with the stuff not yet in place but coming soon…it can then do funscripts and videos synced to them (wat it doesn’t have that out the gate?) and work with all VR headsets.

My best guess is that it’s trying to be something that’s Multifunplayer and Intiface jammed together (maybe also a bit of Ayva Remote) but it doesn’t have something very key of having funscripts run with video working currently…That alone is a major turn off and also well…those two programs are Free to get.
Nothing this program is doing or set out to do in my view makes it any better than just using those programs, even if you add in game compatibility.

An final level of skepticism from myself is that you say it supports all multi-axis devices but not everything uses T-code and does that mean that for devices that are Single axis like Kiro and Handy it doesn’t work? Same thing for VR headsets as there’s many different controller layouts for each headset.

PS I would upload the video onto another site other than vimeo since you need an account to view it so most people won’t even watch it.
