I may get some flack for this. To all those who create these scripts, my opinion is meant with the most respect I can possibly give.
Economically you’re getting free advertising.
Morally, sure it’s kind of a dick move.
Legally, they’re being released without any kind of licensing tied to them.
Realistically I think this concerns chris’ reputation. Hes being a dick but hes not breaking any rules.
Power to the people and lambast him for being dick is the right move imo.
Given that it plays scripts locally and doesn’t require users to go get the scripts, that actually removes the advertisement aspect from mADsCRIPTS. His free scripts aren’t uploaded here and are downloaded from his sales page where the other available scripts are displayed.
It’s also a bit odd about that… Without the scripts being uploaded here, he can’t just pull the script from the source data. So he must be personally going to mAD’s sales page, downloading it from there, then uploading it to his own page.
Ah I see. In that case, It is still just a dick move albiet more shitty.
Like I said. shuttle his reputation would be the answer.
Whatever you can do in the licensing territory I would advise doing as well. As the author he’s in control over the terms of how his scripts are being used. If DMCA or another copyright control can be used. Do that.
This is a pretty old post, whatever happened with this?
As for my personal opinion, i would be very angry if the free scripts i posted here were stolen and used somewhere else with no credit being given. As others have mentioned i consider my free scripts here to be an advertisement for my skills and the payment i receive is likes and comments and eventually recognition of my skills as being worth someone paying money for.
If i spent 30 hours scripting an hour long scene and got 0 likes or comments because some jackass stole my script and reposted it without linking/crediting me i would almost certainly retire from scripting(or vastly reduce the time i spend on it) because what would be the point?
Creators decide individually if they allow the script to be downloadable or not. If there is no download button, it means the creator decided to not let you download the script.
Site is live for several months now and is doing pretty good. https://faptap.net/
And for the “if someone would steal my script and upload it somewhere”. This is not possible on FapTap. Only the creators themselves can upload their scripts. If you find script from other scripters, it is only, because the uploader got the permission (for example: FapTap | The Interactive Porn Experience)
Oh good, i’m glad the website ended up not being used for malicious purposes. Looks like it’s mostly shorter clips of videos anyways which creators could probably use for making free previews for longer paid scripts?
There’s a dead horse apparently in need of a beating…
I’ve messaged some of the creators individually, but multiple FapTap users are uploading scripts that are NOT their original creations with varying degrees of attribution ranging from nothing, to a credit and link to the corresponding script on EroScripts. To date, I have NOT seen a paid script reposted there, but with the growing number of scripts, particularly PMVs, being copied and pasted, I felt some mention should be made to those whose scripts are appearing there. If these users have already contacted the creators mentioned below, I assume no harm no foul, but the sheer number of “ports” is becoming concerning. I like that this is a community of scripters and script enthusiasts. I understand that many simply want to get the script and be gone, and FapTap is a great option for them, but this is (IMO) not the way to go about that.
Note: These have all been uploaded by the same FapTap user, linked here: FapTap | The Interactive Porn Experience
Another user has been focusing primarily on reuploading Noodledude PMVs and others in the same vein FapTap | The Interactive Porn Experience
Rather than enumerate them all, many I have already sent private messages about. If you care, and script PMVs, perhaps it’s worth having a look.
Mods, if this is gratuitous, please feel free to delete, and let me know.
I honestly think this is making a mountain out of molehill. The people on faptap aren’t looking for creators, they’re looking for random scripts and it’s very unlikely that they’ll use faptap without first using eroscripts. If they had particular tastes that would lead them to creators then they would come here.
Posting something on faptap is akin to downloading it to your computer. It’s not part of the ecosystem and specifically caters to people who don’t want to be part of forum ecosystem.
It would also be hypocritical considering many creators upload videos here and to mega without the permission of the original creators.
You are, of course, welcome to your opinion, as are the scripters I have tagged that created the scripts that are being reposted.
My intent is not to create a mountain, and please note I am not suggesting any course of action, only informing the creators that this is, in fact, occurring. I began by attempting to contact each creator individually. However, when almost half of the last 30 scripts posted to FapTap are copy/pastes from here, I thought a post was more in order.
Again, Mods, feel free to let me know if this is unnecessary.
Yet you acknowledge this is dead horse you are beating. By tagging all these people you are in fact making an annoying mountain out of nothing. You claim not to be suggesting action yet you also suggest that it is "concerning"and “not the way to go”.
You seen to be over exemplifying a weird paranoia you have.
Thanks for bringing it to my (and the creators) attention and caring about the scripters. Would be nice if they asked for permission first before uploading, but its not really bothering me to be honest. I make scripts for the community which I assume is 95% on this site. Faptap is a great site to make use of scripts in an easy way, so I only see that as a positive. My scripts are free anyway so this way at least more people (who are not on this site) can enjoy it. Next to that there isn’t really anything to gain from uploading to faptap myself besides views. I dont really care about that.
As far as I can see the person who uploaded my scripts also don’t claim they created them, so i’m going to assume the positive and say that they are just trying to spread the content with the best intentions.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I appreciate your concern and I acknowledge that you have good intentions. While asking for permission would be ideal, having people have great experiences with my script is all I’d like. If these scripts were easily accessible and usable for everyone, more users will be able to enjoy the same scripts we’ve enjoyed. I’m sure this would make some users more curios. Some users may be inspired to delve deeper into the world of scripting. If they so enjoyed a script that they wanted to find more or learn more about scripts, hopefully future uploaders will guide them to a place where to learn how. To help guide those who become curious, video uploads could include a tag of this site in the title or a link in the description to the source (at the very least, this site’s name). By doing so, we can direct interested individuals towards a wealth of scripts and resources. This site serves as a central hub for discovering, learning about, and sharing scripts. We can never have too many creative minds!
Faptap’s rules do not allow people to upload scripts they did not themselves create. When these are reported, they are indeed taken down. BUT in order for us to know and to take them down, someone must email us. Generally this is the creator.
Here’s the first line of the email everyone agrees to when becoming an uploader:
To be approved as a creator on FapTap you must have an account here, and only submit scripts you’ve built yourself. No submitting other people’s scripts.
The account you linked will be taken down within a day. Normally we give a warning but this appears to be an egregious violation so they can simply re-register and re-upload if they’ve actually scripted any themselves.
For the record I do not see any email from anyone about this in our inbox. We would have handled it if we had gotten an email.
Thank you, btw, to those script creators above who have spoken out and said that they don’t mind people sharing them so long as they’re attributed. It’s up to every script creator to decide how their (free) scripts are distributed, and those who do not want their free scripts pirated often don’t realize that many others are actually okay with it, normally so long as they’re attributed etc. (But ofc we don’t know what every creator wants, so we just assume they’re not okay with it and have the policy explained above.)
Thank you for the information. I’m not a scripter, but a user and long time member lurking in the discussions of Bukkake.moe and Faptap 1.0 and 2.0. I had brought this topic up in the Discord, but there doesn’t seem to be much interaction there. There seems like there is more interaction here on ES so here’s my two cents.
I would like to see Faptap become a place where device users can test out before downloading or just have a simple way to connect and enjoy their favorite scripts and where creators have a place to share thier work and be acknowledged. But since there is no real simple way flag posts with broken video links or fix with alternative working video links, it seems users are taking it upon themselves to create uploader accounts and repost like this user or this one. Which now starts the no easy way to flag unauthorized posts and uploader accounts on the creator side. How is it expected that creators not active on FT supposed to know that their script has been posted and email the site about taking it down? A user like me would need to get in touch with the scripter here on ES and then the scripter needs to email FT requesting take down. There has to be a better way.
While we have creators like happymei and express that don’t mind having their scrips posted with acknowledgment. On the other hand we have creators like sol and mad who are no longer active on FT because of the unauthorized postings and slow to non responsive requests for take downs. So how many other creators are not posting their work to FT due to a lack of trust with the site to upkeep the terms and rules that were created when FT2.0 was being developed and in place now?
Then on the user side. We have to know that they browse ES or how else would they know that a script exists? And have the scripts and video locations to post on the site? These users need to speak up and be active in ES community. If they so badly want to experience the script on FT to go through the process of becoming an uploader and creating posts, how hard is it to ask the creator to post it on FT? The users also need to respect the choices of the creators that do not want to post to FT. And if they do post there, they should be respected for choosing to allow or not allow script downloads.
After all of that, the one big issue is with the Creator/Uploader account verification process. It’s one thing to for someone to have an ES account, but to actually verify that they have a script library. Another new uploader on your platform just spammed the site with 12 video/scripts. I haven’t checked all the videos, but the first 2 I looked at, were definitely created by others from the ES community. And glancing at the other CH videos uploaded, I’m pretty sure they were not all made by the same scripter (I like playing CH). Also checking the uploader name there with users here, I find a user with a similar name with zero interaction.
Flagging and updating videos rules and processes will take time. I think dealing with the uploader account verification process will fix a lot of the unauthorized uploading issues immediately.
Sorry this was a long rant, just a concerned member of the community. Without a safe place and respect, scripters won’t be sharing their work and users would have nothing to experience.
I would even extend this question: How many scripters have left the community because of these very issues? The number is greater than 0. ;(
When FT went online back then, I was still an active scripter myself and found several of my scripts there. After I got in touch with Chris (the operator of FT), I decided to leave the community. FT was not the only reason, but it was a big factor in my decision at the time.
I know that at least one of my scripts is on FT almost unchanged right now. But I don’t care about that at all. I still read and lurk on ES from time to time, but I contribute very little to the community.
tldr: I’m not surprised that this discussion comes up again and it will come up again and again.
