There is nothing against someone making free script for request, even if another guy did paid version for that video already
I agree with TS tho, i’m about to unsub from paid script category for tags i sub to and limit it only for free.
Moment i joined that site it was about 50-50 paid or free ones in my subs, now it’s more like 80-20 paid-free
Should say my sub is just multi-axis tag basically, just to check all new multi-axis releases
And now it feels very much paid scripts left there, and also ALOT of content i didn’t into it, like hundreds of same style short animation with Genshin characters xd
Getting free script for video i like is happening like once a 2 week now, was about 3-4 per week about half year ago tho
I just learned how to make my own scripts, which is great for me since I don’t like some of the scripts out there that attempt to destroy my dick with lots of very fast small movements that don’t really match the action of the video.
Some of these are from ES, but I made at least a third of my collection myself.
It’s very easy once you learn how to do it, and you’ll get to tailor them to your own preferences.
So much this. Create a “free scripter” badge and dozens will just pump AI gen scripts, no checks or retouching, and paid scripters won’t get paid.
It’s naive. People suck, and people will take advantage if there’s a possibility. Might be OK for one person, but not another - and that’s where quallity and engagement goes to die.
Lack of preview images on paid scripts is a major issue. I understand not wanting to “leak” so another can just copy and not not pay… but I seriously doubt anyone’s ability to replicate from a PNG.
Paid scripters - you gotta put a heatmap up, otherwise you are losing sales. Some of these are in the $4.99 and above range, and after a handful of purchases based on previous work of the scripter, and being disappointed… if there’s no heat map, I’m not buying.
Fortunately, to a certain degree, this is untrue, i myself always shout out other peoples versions, be it paid or not, both in my paid and free posts and i have seen many other creators do this consistently as well, the occurrence itself is not frequent but when it happens, people shout out other versions more times than not.
Nobody is trying to add barriers in that regard to my understanding, as i said before, this is just a personal preference, like opening and holding a door to a stranger when entering a building, you don’t have to do it at all, it’s just a nicety that i like to do.
From what i have seen in this conversation, this seems to be a matter of what you’re looking for more than anything else, @GFree mentioned he is looking for multi-axis scripts only, by doing that you’re limiting the content available to a very small fraction of what is posted, I think that normalizes the results you are currently seeing a bit, so finding consistent releases under those limitations becomes harder.
Because if we ignore the stats the Vlad already posted in the conversation and only talk about personal experience, i personally can easily make the opposite claim, i get so many free scripts on daily basis that i can’t even parse through them all.
To combat this situation, i would say to be the change you want to see. Join us and expand the content and community!
The real danger for copying comes from the .svg file, you can actually grab all the metadata and positional data directly from that file as it stores it directly. All the heatmaps generated from the site automatically from direct script uploads are svg’s. You can actually see it yourself by appending .json to a post URL. If someone takes a screenshot of that file there isn’t really an easy way to recreate the script, as all that info isn’t added to the png.
Multi-axis is a whole lot more time and resource consuming than single-axis, I have no ill will towards folks who just do paid multi… that’s a level of time, effort, and experience that is worth something. If and only if it’s a quality script. I keep that in mind when I look thru Free and it’s been weeks since a multi shows up around my tags.
I will say, I really do wonder about the pace at which these short animated ones in Paid get released - I get that it takes less time for shorter vid and animated/3D cgi are “moving” in much more regular patterns, but I think there’s already a fair bit of monetization of AI gen scripts going on.
Generally speaking, what type of content/tags are you looking for?
I’d recommend putting in Script Requests for content you like—that’s exactly what they’re there for. A lot of scripters check those regularly, and it gives us a clear direction on what people actually want.
It’s a lot more reliable than waiting and hoping someone happens to script something that matches your interests.
Personally, I’m always open to recommendations. It makes a huge difference when I don’t have to spend hours digging for content to script—if I know there’s interest, I can spend that time actually scripting instead.
Right now, I am making multi-axis versions of already created scripts: Feel free to jump in there =>
I can resonate with a lot of people here.
Pretty much 3 years ago I started scripting and posted my first script here.
Scripting for me is a hobby and it sounds funny, but: Feels like meditating.
Very fast I fall in love with multi-axis scripting and made a free post because I liked to share what I made. Then I stopped posting, but I never stopped scripting.
Why I stopped posting
In the beginning I said: “I will polish my skills first”. So I learned from good multi-axis scripters like @flowerstrample and modified existing software (FunScriptSimulator3D, OFS, etc.) to my needs.
But the more time I invested and the better I got, also another thought became more dominant:
“Maybe I can make some money with it?” and the feeling grew that I would lose something when I post everything I have made for free.
And now… I’m sitting on a gold mine[1] Never shared with anyone.
The funny part is, I realized myself that I became corrupted in the process → , but I never broke the cycle.
And about the quality of scripts:
Yeah, there is a lot of shit out there even for paid scripts and especially for multi-axis, but I never said something because I didn’t want do demotivate the creators. On the other hand, staying silent is unfair against the good scripters and especially the buyers of this scripts.
I would suggest using DeepL instead of chatGPT for translations. I’m assuming you used AI, unless you just really love emoji’s. DeepL is pretty solid for translating your message.
Thats pretty much the regular process. Learn to script and produce, maybe teach a bit on how to and then realize you need a decision here as free scripting has no reward at at all. That is how they come and go.
My two cents since I believe I’m somewhat of an odd case.
My Patreon is primarily intended to compensate me on the numerous hours I spend editing my silly little degen hmv-style narratives. Since these are so work- and time-intensive to realize, it can take months for a new release and I can offer little value on a daily/weekly basis, which is the driving factor for a healthy Patreon in this space imo.
So I try to still script 1-3 scripts per week in a conscious effort to provide value for the generous folks who support me monetarily despite that. For me it’s akin to throwing in a log on a fire that’d otherwise just struggle to keep burning.
If I’d just drop the editing and become a full-on scripter, I’d probably offer more free scripts but since my available time is split between editing and scripting, every script I manage to churn out is vital for me.
Generally though, I can very much echo @Slibowitz 's comment. Engagement is very important. Putting hours into something, only for it to get “drowned out by the noise” can indeed be pretty demotivating.
Its also demotivating when you pump out free scripts same or higher quality than paid scripts on a site for free, for the whole community, and at the same time you should pay on that same site for scripts.
Not saying the paid scripters should give scripts out for free. Some really pay their bills with this work and work it is. The site should solve the problem if free scripting is something they want.
And then AI will solve it all when it gets good enough. At the moment its still far from good scripting. Would be last places in any contest.
Definitely running into that or at least similar headaches constantly. Either script something new throughout the week, only to see that it was made available for free or paid a day earlier. Thankfully most of what I’m scripting is maybe 10 minutes tops. Can’t imagine how frustrating it has to be when it’s something truly lengthy.
I usually try to hold off on advertising my scripts whenever there’s already one available and even if I decide to make it free, at least wait a few weeks.
I guess what could work would be a group chat or thread where scripter of a particular genre/tag (animation/VR/2d) coordinate what they’re going to script in the short- and long term.
Might be a naive approach though since good new content drops daily and afaik many also let their Patrons decide, take suggestions etc.
Tough nut to crack really.
