Just got in the handy 2 pro and did some testing, not sure if it’s just me but it seems to handle bluetooth connections worse than the handy 1???
I’m inexperienced with this stuff so ik it could be a something unrelated like firmware version or drivers, so I figured I would pose the question here: Is the Handy 2 pro’s connection bugging out, or is there an incompatibility with old scripts/game integrations?
I tested with intiface and EDI - (with EDI’s bluetooth and wifi modes, albeit via a hotspot for the latter) and cycled through a few games with built-in support and EDI mod support, all of which had the same hiccups: bluetooth was noticably lagging behind and on faster scripts the device pauses every like .5 seconds and doesnt properly keep up. I’m pretty sure this is just part of the bluetooth limitations but with the handy 1 (on two games with built in support) this was NOT an issue before.
Then when testing with EDI bluetooth the same issue happened, and switching to Wi-Fi alleviated only the lag, not the stuttering.
(in case anyone is going to ask, yes I tested both normal and legacy bluetooth mode for every relevant combination)
I’m in the exact same situation.
I want to know if this is an issue specific to my environment or device, or if it’s a general problem with Handy 2 pro.
I am also getting this issue when using Random Video Player connected to Intiface and ScriptPlayer. I have overclocked the device to up to 1200 speed(?) and it still cant keep up with what the Handy 1 was capable of on faster scripts. I heard that having it plugged in while in use can increase the torque which seems to help a bit but enough to entirely keep up.
I also seem to be having issues with simulated vibration where the Handy 2 Pro seems to just give up and not even attempt them like the 1 would.
Also getting issues where the device occasionally just ignores the script entirely and swiftly does a full length stroke. Like Jello, i’m seeing this in both Legacy and Bluetooth modes.
I knew I wasn’t crazy
There’s one or two other people who had similar/the same experience I did, and I’m really hoping either enough people notice that it gets formally address, or that someone finds a solution asap
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to do much real testing because of network limitations, but I’ll probably update this post soon when I’m in a good environment to at least do a direct h1 vs h2p comparison side to side (may try to post videos for reference)
This seems similar, if a bit adjacent to my issue, unfortunately over clocking really just increases the motors max allowed speed so it won’t help ( and there’s some other software nuances that make it a bit worse for unoverclocked scripts iirc)
What I’ve found as well is that this issue ALSO occurs on WiFi via edi and online applications. Like I said I think it has to do specifically with fast repeated sections being sent to the handy…
Also the Bluetooth stability overall seems worse than the h1, which is odd. If you have downloaded scripts there is a small silver lining though, the proprietary site’s script player (handy feeling) doesn’t seem to have the stuttering issue, even on fast scripts. There is a decent bit of lag due to Bluetooth (and again, weirdly more than the h1) but you can mitigate that with the delay slider
