Handy 2 Pro making loud clicking noise

Has anyone else had an issue where the Handy 2 Pro is making a very loud clicking noise every time it changes directions after moving downwards?

It’s very loud, and my original handy 2 (which was replaced due to the battery defect) did not make such a noise.

I’ve relubricated the central screw but cannot get the noise to stop.

I can also feel a part coming in contact with the bottom silicon cover of the device near the lip on one side of the device. If I place my finger over it I can feel something bang into it, and as long as I press against it the noise stops.

Is my handy missing some kind of a buffer piece that is meant to be a cushion? Did something come loose? I’ve been using it normal modes as I did not want to engage overclocking and void warranty until I was sure the battery was okay.

Hard to say for sure but it sounds like some other reports on Discord.

One or both of the guide rods in the H2 can break the plastic that they slot/screw into at the top of the handy allowing one or both to come loose. When the plastic breaks the guide rod can slide up and down. There is no plastic covering the rod on the bottom so you’re most likely feeling the rod hitting the sillicon cover when the rod moves down and the clicking is when the rod moves upward and slams back into the slot. There are some videos and pictures on the Discord.

That sounds about right, does anyone have any fixes? I do not have discord as I do not have a burner account there yet. Thank you by the way

The H1 had something similar that I fixed but don’t know how well it would work on the H2. Yours should still be covered under the warranty so I would contact them for a replacement.

If you decide to try and repair it (opening it voids your warranty) let me know and I’ll explain a simple fix that may work.
