🔬 Handy 2 Pro: The Ultimate In-Depth Review - UPDATED 03.03.26

For what it is worth I have had other companies request videos for everything from faulty game cartridges to a broken computer chair costing more than the Handy in recent months. This is just the way companies handle troubleshooting these days it seems.

I agree that adult products can be sensitive - but it’s not as if they’re asking you for video of you using the product either.

I agree. While it may seem invasive, they do need to see if you can repeat the fault.

If you need to keep it private, anyone can easily send a video and then delete the file from their phone or computer (if you use a web cam).

I had to send a video to Ohdoki and multiple other companies (3D printer manufacturers for example). IMO, it sure beats having to ship them the product for testing/repairs, but, in fairness to other people’s privacy, I guess a shipping option should be at least one method of getting support.

Overlock mode is not only for speed. It also allows the Handy 2 Pro to go much slower, allowing slower and detailed scripts to feel better. With that, details that otherwise couldn’t have been played, can be played. The speed is nice, but the minimum speed is a setting many overlook and underestimate.

So where do I get the extended adapter? I only see a “long sleeve holder” on the Handy website and the straps seems the same as the default straps so it’s not long enough for an onahole of the same size as Gokusai.

edit: nvm I found the extender too. Both are 25-29$ each. I can not agree with that pricing for the extender adapter and long sleeve holder.
And straps are not included for the long sleeve holder…

This Friday I received the Pro I ordered on the website last October. I had to come back to this post for help. The price of the extender and Long Sleeve Holder is really too high, and even with a 30% off now, it still doesn’t cover the shipping cost. I am very sure that these two components are very useful to me, but it really feels unpleasant, like buying an iPhone and then having to pay extra for the charging cable.

You are almost forced to buy the extender because all the adapters sits too close to the H2.

They did release the fleshlight adapter for 60$ on kickstarter which is a insane price for an adapter. The fleshlight adapter sits too close to the H2. The sleeves will rub against the H2 causing damage to the sleeves and put more strain on the motor. So you need to get the extender as well for 25$ or you can not use the fleshlight adapter. That is 85$+shipping costs.

Now to the fun part, when they change the tolerance for the clickons to make it easier to attach and remove the adapters they did not update the fleshlight adapter with the new tolerance. The extender does not work with the fleshlight adapter that they sent to kickstarter backers. The 60$ adapter is unusable unless you want to damage your sleeves and put more strain on the motor.

I agree that it’s a very steep price, but everything produced in small quantities tend to become quite expensive due to all the costs associated with development and setting up a production. Those cost must be carried by sold units, not just the material and production cost. If they produce too many then you get captial bound in inventory, which isn’t good for a small company.

That is true, I was willing to pay that price when I backed the product.

I think I am just extra salty that I got an adapter for 60$ that is unusable. I then ordered the extender for 25$+12$ shipping to fix the problem just to realize that the adapters are not compatible.

Ohdoki have not made any announcement about the change after they released the new adapters. Infact they did the opposite for months and said that the extender would work with all adapters including the fleshlight adapter. On the store page it still says “Designed to extend any ClickOn accessory.”

I had no idea, that sucks. The unfortunate downside of buying on the internet and not old fashioned way in a store where you can get see the real product before buying.

Are you sure you are talking about the fleshlight adapter? Because the fleshlight adapter I got is all hard plastic and covers the entire fleshlight sleeve, therefore it never makes any contact with the H2.
The adapter has issues IMO, but it requiring the extender is not one of them.

Now tons of their sleeves do in fact rub against the H2 without the extender, but not the fleshlight adapter from my experience, and it really shouldn’t given it’s hard plastic.

The extender adapter solves most of the issues with regular sleeves, although frankly still think it would have been better to just make an attachment that has an extension above so that it creates a “barrier” between the sleeve and the handy, similar to how their double strap does it, had modified a 3d printed model and printed one and it worked just fine for the purpose, and I would imagine it is also better for the life of the handy since there is less leverage working on the mechanism.

That being said early units (Early Bird here) are at least from my experience of just 1 unit, a bit of terrible reliability wise.

Anyway glad to hear that they no longer void warranty with overclocking, thanks for sharing that, my Handy 2 Pro from the early bird batch had quite a few issues, and I simply never activated the warranty because none of them stopped the device from working and didn’t want to get a replacement where I couldn’t use what is IMO the main benefit of the Pro unit, without voiding the warranty on a device that based on my Early Bird experience isn’t there yet reliability wise.

The start/entrance of the sleeve is not covered by the case. During use, for me this part will always push out a bit to the sides of the case. The adapter already sits very close to the H2 and when the sleeve pushes out a few centimeters it will make the sleeve rub against the H2.

Oh, ok yeah I see, can’t say I have noticed that being an issue with the sleeves I use, but can definitely see it as being a potential issue especially on sleeves that have more material at the entrance (or placed “sideways”), or users who are girthier since that would displace the silicone more.

Also since I hadn’t use it with the extender, had completely failed to notice that the extender doesn’t work with the fleshlight adapter, knew it didn’t work with the original core holder since they warned about it and sent a new one, but since I only tested it with the Long Sleeve holder (double strap) and it works on that one, I completely failed to realize that.

They should have mentioned it with the kickstarter update, unless they did and I failed to notice it.

Funny enough the extender that I 3d printed before works just fine with it.

As a side note, it’s obvious that they are getting a crash course in adhesive strength, because even now testing to see if the Fleshlight adapter fitted the extender, the magnet of the fleshlight adapter came off lol.

At this point all of the magnets of all of the pieces they have for the handy 2 pro (have them all) have come off, with the exception of the extender, which I assume hasn’t come off because it is 2 magnets back to back so the forces on it probably keep them in place enough that it’s the magnets of the other parts that come off.

BUYERS BEWARE!! I have recently bought the handy 2 pro where it was working great until the battery died. This seems to be a common problem across for the handy 2 where the usb c port and/or the battery doesn’t work and the device is unable to charge. If the device can’t charge or get power, it’s essentially a useless brick.

This wouldn’t have been an issue if the warranty process was quick and easy but even that is terrible. I have been told there is no ETA on a replacement even after showing a video of how I charge it, getting log files and charging it for 12 hours.

Their website also lies with a 4.6 star review when there have been plenty of 1 star reviews specifying the same battery issue. If you search the forums here, some customers are saying that the even the replacements are having the same issues, meaning that there is clearly a huge design flaw that the handy team is not telling its customers about.

Such a shame as the handy 1 was awesome but seems like they rushed the handy 2 and can’t keep up with the issues.

I’m not gentle with either of my two Handy 2 Pro units. Yet I’ve not managed to break the USB-C port. I suspect some folks are hammering their cable into the Handy. Driving it in hard over and over. Really getting up in there.

If I were Handy I’d be delaying replacements until I fixed the underlying issue, which is allegedly a floating connector rather than being anchored to a board which is affixed to the inside of the Handy.

So it makes sense replacements are taking a while as they try to get a revision out that fixes the problem - assuming that’s what is going on anyway.

I had plugged mine in once, charged it to full, then some six weeks or so later when the charge had dipped to single figures I found it would not charge when connected for the second time. There is no visible damage, the port is not loose or anything and it still works while plugged in, the battery just does not take any charge whatsoever.

Over on the other thread (Handy2 Pro Not Charging - #22 by handyAlexander) they have admitted that they had a “bigger problem than we first thought” and have made changes to the next batch.

@El_burrito — sorry for the experience. You’re right that the charging issue is real. As I posted a few days ago: it turned out bigger than we first thought, the error rate is higher than it should be, and that’s on us. It’s been fixed in the latest production batches, and confirmed faults will be replaced.

Replacement delays are down to a large support backlog from pre-order volume plus logistics problems (stolen shipments, delayed containers). Not an excuse for the silence on your ticket — we’re working through it.

The thing that I worry about the most, as a second batch h2p owner, is my unit is most likely affected. I have been so ginger with the charging port from day one after reading about the floating charging port on your Discord. This unit will probably kick the bucket before it’s due time despite my carefulness. Is it possible that upon realizing certain units fall within the production range of the known issue, that the warranty or replacement window would possibly be extended for those owners? :folded_hands:

Our general approach on these cases is to stay flexible. If your unit ever does fail, reach out to support, reference this thread, and tell us about your usage — we’ll look at it with an open mind rather than going strictly by the warranty date.

As an early backer, I have vacillated between excitement and dread. I absolutely love the hp2, and yet reading the reports, I can’t help but worry about a future of buyer’s remorse. However, your comment has led me back to the path of satisfaction. Thanks for the words of confidence!

This is for anyone wanting to buy the handy2 BUY WITH CAUTION AND THE UNDERSTANDING THAT IT WILL BREAK.

Here comes the rant and findings of the ACTUAL review of using this thing with its ungodly intent of the promised 1200 ms firepower c-breaker for atleast a month of fullpowered backbreaking force that could make a special forces veteran sweat.
Ill be real with everyone here who intends to buy the handy 2 in the hopes of getting the advertised promise. Wich would be its stronger motor and overclock function. Thats basicly the whole reason people buy this thing.

Now the handy1 incase you ever broke it (wich i have on accident by actually putting weight on it from me not paying attention when stacking my furniture like a dummy). Has 2 inner metal rods. These rods function as the support and counterweight for its interior PCB bus / motherboard. They are secured on these rods wich also protect the side of the device. This is important because most if not 80%+ use a mounting option with a clamp. Pressure coming from the sides gets distributed amongst the pipes and counter friction is then minimal. The handy2 however has nothing except its PCB BUS. This means that there is no scenario where the plastic wont crack from uneven distribution of force. When Handheld you wont be able to experience the counterweight because your arms literally cant hold back the device on max speed. When mounted however, the device will first crack on its Bolt side, meaning that because its not molded into the outer shell the friction causes the bolt to losen the plastic casing around it. Its only a matter of time before it pops out of its hole. This creates a cascade effect of even more force being distributed along its side because it cant reach the middle. The top / bottem of the device also has a very thin layer of plastic molding wich for some reason they decided. The Handy 1 has a circle shape ending + thicker layer of plastic for that very reason. If you want to use the handy2 whatever mounting option you pick even the one from handy itself will break the device. Its a design flaw. (perhaps induced later from pressure to add a mounting option?) The only option is to use it hand held if you ever want it to last. And that means not using the overclock function or even pushing it past 600 ms. (advertised 1200+ on pro overclocked).
Therefor the design choice to pick a rubber encasing around the plastic exterior makes it even more dubious. Because you wont be able to identify any cracks or notice the thin layer of plastic around the end / top of the device. Infact somewhat extending its use by keeping broken holes or cracks together for a time. However especially if not identified will lead to users applying force on the same region resulting in damage to its pcb bus / motherboard ultimately breaking down. Also the top and bottem of the device is held together with its pcb bus by 1 1/mm screw. Thats insane to me. Its too compact the electronics have no support aside from 2 screws.

My speculation is that they cut costs by both removing the interior support and lowering the plastic encasing by aprox 40%. The Handy1 was already pushing it in terms of plastic encasing but if you take into consideration the force that is distributed along its axis from the device itself the only feasable conclussion becomes that it was never made to last. Its perhaps intentionally made to break wich is to me insane considering the reputation the handy 1 had and the idea that it was such a high selling point on power. The overclocking and improved motor. Long term it wont end well and it needs a redesign, make it bigger and add interior support. Ofcourse this makes it push a certain weightlevel and might also increase shipping cost. Perhaps another cascading effect from a choice where this form of cost cutting ultimately killed this insanely promising device. (keep in mind i used the handy 1 for atleast 3 years for ungodly hours, same setup same mounting. Its just not made for what it intends to provide, handheld vs power should have been a distinction in design and lead to a different priority.)

Do any of you use it handheld? If not i think you wont like the conclussion. that its infact the shady design of the exterior / interior that makes it break from force and weight distribution. It simply cant sustain anything above 600 ms and however long you can use it depends on your lucky charms. The handy 1 only had this issue on the very top left side / bottem right side. Where there is a small 1 cm point of free space with only plastic and that still only ment it created a hole in the exterior if broken through / cracked. The handy 2 will break from any point especially its bolts and top side.

I think most if not all the people who were complaining about their battery is just a side effect of their broken pcb bus or broken port from where the exit hole is present for its USB C charging port. Cracking the side of the port increases the chances that the device will get force on one of the chips aswell. Not to mention any liquid that might get into it. Anyway thats all i got and its a huge rant aswell but i think this is the only device that ever only lasted me 2 months in my life. And that for 300+ euros is crazy. For what its worth it was fun to experience a strong motor and some scripts like Fap hero 2077 (hard mode) on overclocked were insane. But if you want to experience that you better cough up that money boi and be a sucker whale for these people. So if your rich its great but just know what you are up for.
