Hardware Prototype for Multi-axis Funscript recording + streaming

Hi all!

I’m the person who made the vFAPS.com funscript tool / media player.

In my downtime, I’ve been working on a prototype hardware device that can be worn and used to record multi-axis funscripts.

I also built-in wi-fi capabilities so it can stream the funscript data its recording in real-time.

I’m currently adding an additional sensor to make it more accurate, but the prototype is working.

Currently, its a bit bigger than a tin of Altoids, but I’ve designed a custom PCB and could get the size down to roughly the size of a USB stick.

Curious if this is something people besides myself would be interested in?

So if I understand this correctly someone can stroke irl with this device and make movements that will be turned into a funscript?

That’s exactly it.

It was one of those “huh, I’m surprised nobody’s done this yet… or they have and I’m an idiot” moments so I figured I’d check in here and gauge interest or see if theres already a device like this (but it seems everyone is too focused on AI and computer vision currently).

I’m waiting for 2 more sensors to show up so I can nail it down, but here’s a video of the prototype on a breadboard with my comically oversized solar external battery:

Alternatively, it could be worn during sex as one of the sensors I’m waiting on is a ToF sensor for range-imaging…

To be honest, I did think about it at one point.

But I honestly have no idea how much demand/want/need there is for something like this (not to mention it’s a lot of work for what’s effectively just a fun side project, lol)

Nice! Glad it’s not just me, lol. This is the early prototype on a breadboard with my comically oversized solar external battery. I’m waiting on a couple of additional sensors to help nail it down, but otherwise it’s solid. With the custom PCB the final size, all-in, would be roughly 40 x 25 x 15mm. I’m kind of thinking of doing an early run of like 5 PCBs and going from there so if you or anyone else is interested lmk.

Looks very neat. Thank you for the effort so far and congratulations on your progress!

I had thought about making something similar (not in VR), but it’s unfortunately very low on my priority list. So I’m glad to see others are going forward with and are actually implementing it.

My only gripe with any of these solutions is, that it will still take considerable effort in post to actually make a bang-on script. But don’t let that stop you as with other (software) tools it will still considerably accelerate the process and get us to 80% a lot faster either way… And maybe you could offer courses to people on how to stroke precisely (talk about after-market )
