I have Heresphere (paid version) sideloaded onto my Quest 3.
I play videos and scripts just fine off one of my drives using SMB.
I tried setting up a new SMB connection from a different drive and videos play but the scripts don’t. I keep getting “Script not found” even though I set up the sharing for the folder on this new drive the exact same way as the first one that works. Is there a simple fix for this?
IIRC, the name of the script needs to exactly match the name of the MP4.
A better option (in my opinion) is to run XBVR. It’s available for Windows, doesn’t take up much space, and will allow you to create a browsable and searchable list of VR scenes and scripts. I used to do what you are describing. Once I tried XBVR, I never went back to SMB or DLNA.
Here’s a link to XBVR on github.
I am aware the names of videos and scripts need to match. That’s what’s confusing. Everything matches. It’s all set up the exact same way as the other drive but the scripts don’t show up.
I’m going to completely re-write my response. I forgot that you are using a different drive.
Have you checked both the file-level and the share-level permissions to make sure they are the same?
Or… give XBVR a try. It integrates very well with HereSphere.
Yes, both drives are set up the exact same way. I can see the videos from the SMB share off the new drive, but whenever I play them the script doesn’t appear at all no heat map nothing.
