How to create custom thumbnails in XBVR for 2d PMV's?

I like to stream PMV’s from XBVR to my heresphere but can’t figure out a way to generate thumbnails for my 2d videos.

I’ve created a custom scene but when I add an image file to:

Edit scene details >Covers

It doesn’t work.

It just has this:

http://localhost/dont_cause_errors

Dang, i cant even figure out how to get any 2d to play via heresphere. How do you do that???

Does your heresphere only play vr?

You have to delete or replace the “don’t cause errors” thing that is there.

Should just be one line in the covers section, like this:

Also don’t forget to save the scene details too.

If you have the image as a file you can have xbvr host it. You put it in the myfiles path under your xbvr installation. The location varies depending what operating system you use, so I can’t tell you offhand.

Once you have the file there you change the scene cover image URL like @charz1060 described. It would look something like:
http://192.168.101.23/myfiles/my-custom-cover.jpg

Look at the Format section under “Advanced Video Settings”. Using “Perspective” and “Mono” will show a 2D video on a theater style screen in VR.

Thanks for the help Islanti.

I’m using Mac OS and can’t find the installation folder unfortunately. I usually just run it from a terminal exec found in my downloads folder.

Would you have any workarounds I can use to host custom cover images? @Islanti

Okay I found a work around where I uploaded the image to imgur, then right click to open in a new tab to grab the URL.

Thanks Islanti!
