I recently bought one and encountered a problem: at the last step of the setup, where you need to update the firmware, an update error appears and the device times out. In another thread, I saw a tip about using a hotspot on my phone or VPN on my router, but it didn’t work on my phone, and I can’t install VPN on my router. Is there any other way to update the device and use Wi-Fi mode?

No, tryed 2 diffrend vpn with hotspot on phone, didnt work. Maybe something with my handy, try some do yourself, maybe you find solution
Basically, you need to set up a VPN on your laptop—I personally use a paid service called “Uncle Vanya.” In your connection settings, enable the hotspot feature. Next, go to your adapter settings; once the VPN is active, a new adapter will appear in the list. Right-click on it and select “Properties,” then switch to the second tab from the top. Select your local network connection, grant access by checking the two corresponding boxes, click “OK,” and everything should work.
The VPN won’t work from your phone.
New adapter should be appear when you turn on hotspot, right? If so, i do all the stuf but it error when i try to connect handy to wifi (During the “initial” setup). Please, can you write step by step all thing?
I found a solution that worked for me, so I’m sharing it here. I use Vanya VPN along with the Seraphinite Wi-Fi Hotspot app. In the Seraphinite settings, you need to select the adapter created by your VPN and enable the hotspot. You’ll then be able to connect to it using Handy. I assume this will work with other VPN services as well.
