I was closing some tabs in my toolbar and noticed the indicator that something was using location data, and it was Intiface central. is this normal, or did i somehow get something injected into it via a scuffed download link or something?
Are you not hosting a local server with it? Also bluetooth needs that to connect to devices.
Shownshadow already said this but some wireless connection protocols require location permissions because it is impossible to use those without location triangulation being possible.
It’s technically a side-channel attack in that context but that’s how cellular, wifi and bluetooth work.
Location data can be synonymous with “device pairing”
