I previously attached my paid script links and thumbnails at the bottom of my free script posts, but I removed them all after re-reading that rule. However, I often see other free script posts that continue to include their paid script links and thumbnails.
Since those posts have been up for a long time without any sanctions or removal, I’m a bit confused about whether this is actually allowed or not. I’m not trying to criticize those users; I’m just curious if I can include my paid script links as well.
This could be better worded now that I’m reading it again.
Posting a direct link to a specific paid script (ie. “I just released this 1 paid script go check it out”) is against the rules. I actually believe this was because a while back there was a practice that users would bump their free posts with ads for new paid scripts.
Since we changed the bumping behavior now. I actually think this rule can be removed.
Update: I removed it.
Yes publishing scripts on other platforms is allowed but they need to comply with free scripts barriers rules. The patreon link would require that anonymous download is allowed
