This morning, I noticed that my card was used to purchase a couple of presumably Oculus gift cards, which I did not authorize. My Meta account is ok and that card was not associated with it. The only questionable website I ever used with that card was sellix. Is it possible that my card number was compromised there?
If I’m not mistaken sellix itself doesn’t handle any CC information, that should all be handled by the payment processor used e.g. Stripe. Anyway, even the most trusted website may have data breaches. Another possibility of course is kids/siblings/friends taking a peek at the physical card. Knowing for absolute sure is difficult unless you can trace the unauthorized purchases somehow. Report it to your bank/CC company and order a new card.
So I am not sure what payment processor they’ve been using, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was more to it.
Edit: Checked a few more things:
Sellix Discord is gone
Known contacts are gone
They surely ran with the money. I wouldn’t be surprised if they also got a ton of payment and other information. Can anyone confirm the payment processor? But yeah not that surprised.
Edit 2: More to add:
"Florain is the original creator of Sellix, he also is the original creator of the fraud related forum Cracked.
Finn was the original creator of Nulled.
Florain and Finn both sold their forums, Finn to a “Jason”, Florain to “KSZ”.
Rumours (confirmed by some inside sources) are that Florain = Jason, and that he still owns Cracked (and thus faked the sale of it to look like he went full legit)."
People that checked their wallets also miss the BTC. There is only ETH apparently lol.
Theres speculation that the owner is in custordy, that is heresay though that i read in the discord server, so i dont think its a cut and run sort of thing
Yes that’s not speculation, because it has been news now. 8 people in custody, one of those is Florian Marzahl from Hamburg Germany (my home town). I wouldn’t expect for the site to get back. The site has been seized because it was a known site for selling hacks and other questionable stuff. People already panicking now in communities. People that sold funscripts dont have to worry of course, but I don’t think the site itself will be back. If you had funds in a wallet you can apparently get to them with your access key. If you still wanted to transfer stuff you are pretty much out of luck it seems.
I took some time off only to being welcomed back by these news. Ever since I lost my “real life” job last year, scripting has been my livelihood so this is not stressing at all.
same, kind of terrifying having you job dangled infront of you. Not sure if Detroit told you also but i found a site called SendOwl that allows our stuff
Checking reviews, past histories and Reddit posts I would be wary here too. Just saying after a quick look. If people have the option (which unfortunately most people dont) I would recommend Fantia with subs and buyable scripts. Just watch out for your personal data and other stuff.
Damn. Luckily I always choose PayPal when given an option. I have 2-factor authentication for it so hopefully will be ok with just updating the password to a new one.
I feel for you paid scripters as it seems you’re increasingly running out of options for selling and payment processing.
@scripters wouldn’t it be an option to sell scripts on patreon or won’t they allow that? I’d be happy to subscribe. PayPal is also my only option so even through sellix I couldn’t get to buy all the scripts I wanted. @monsterdude22 Is there a specific reason you don’t use PayPal for your sales? Cheers and big thanks to all scripters out there. Every script I bought so far was definitely worth the money.
Yeah, paypal is the main reason my gumroad was banned, they also banned me from the service for adult content, there very strict againts it so i dont allow purchases from them to ensure my account is safe. That and im from the UK so i can direct bank transfer
Ugh, I had just started moving my scripts from Gumroad (which was closed due to AI review seeing NSFW titles) to Sellix, only for all of this. The kicker is neither GR or Sellix processed my final payout, so I lost quite a bit of money into the void.
Honestly I might wait for a month or two before I try setting up shop again to see if there’s a favorite alternative platform. Really hoping that neither my customers or my own personal info weren’t compromised by using sellix.
Wow I didn’t know they were associated with shady stuff, I thought it was just a regular payment gateway for legitimate stuff. I only ever bought funscripts for VR there, but I used my credit card, wondering if there will be issues now. I hope not.
I wouldn’t have used it if I had known it was at all shady.
Every place has shady people, they just happened to get caught red handed. I had all my cards linked there and nothing bad has happened yet so I wouldn’t worry about that.
If your worried legally then there’s also nothing to worry about, they were after sellers that were selling that shady stuff which none of us here were.
