Is there a way to display the topic thumbnail when using a filter in the topic list?

I usually run a multi-parameter filter on the topics list to remove categories and tags that do not meet my interests. When I turn on the filter, the topic thumbnail is no longer displayed. I was wondering if there is any way to still see the thumbnail (either by including something in the filter string, or by changing some other setting)
