Firstly, the site is much slower at loading now and my CPU usage spikes when scrolling. Also, it seem the “Since last visit” marker is gone? I’ll miss that, because I would use that spot to start my browsing.
Secondly, almost every topic now shows that it is bookmarked for me. Plus the ones that I’ve liked don’t have the heart filled in.
Luckily if I go into my bookmarks they aren’t actually in there, so it didn’t corrupt my bookmarks. The one that doesn’t show bookmarked is a new topic that was just posted after I logged in, so it seems like all existing topics show up as bookmarked on the general view.
That’s odd, I don’t see any performance issues. since I’m an admin I have a benchmark that appears on all pages and it’s the same as prior to the update.
note: I actually noticed it’s a little faster on average.
This still exists:
This is a bug with the thumbnailer theme component, it’s been happening since before the update. You were likely using the default theme so you never noticed it.
Thanks for the confirmation. Yeah, I was on the default theme, before, but I had a script to show my likes. I assumed that feature was added in the update and noticed it was broken.
The slowdown is mainly when scrolling down the page while it is trying to load the next “page” of topics. I assume the client side code is heavier now. Before I could pretty much just endlessly scroll, but now my CPU usage spikes and the page gets janky until the next section of videos show up and then I can scroll.
Is this just a theme thing then? Is it possible to revert back to the old theme by a setting on my profile?
Try going into your account preferences and switch back to your original theme. It’s likely the one called “dark” (don’t confuse it with the colorschemes)
