Help everyone: Unable to run OFS software on Win10 (64 bit) system, still unable to run OFS after switching to WIN11 (64 bit) system. I have tried several versions downloaded from this website, but I don’t know what to do? Please provide guidance, thank you!
Please use search first. This question comes every now and then and there are several threads related to this with suggestions on how to solve it.
If you still can’t manage to get OFS running then list what you have tried and give a more detailed description what happens when you start OFS. Listing hardware is also relevant, e.g. CPU and GPU models. Laptops with built-in GPU (i.e. not AMD or nVidia) can sometimes be troublesome.
A hint is to try the mpv library downgrade (v2 → v1 I think) since that seems to have solved it for quite many users.
Thank you for your reply. Does the MPV library refer to “mpv-2. dll”? After installation, mpv-2.dll is displayed. The hardware is quite old. The CPU is Intel (R) Xeon (R) CPU E3-1230 V2, with 24GB of memory and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 GPU. I tried the OFS software found on this website, but after double clicking, the mouse pointer circled for a few seconds and there was no response.
Looking forward to receiving everyone’s help! thank you!
I resolved the issue by downloading the mpv-1.dll file from the OFS-64x_9c93e078358e33d4a0c8aef46cbaa01371d7cb77.zip archive (version 2.0.0) available at:(https://github.com/OpenFunscripter/OFS/releases/tag/2.0.0)
I then deleted the existing mpv-2.dll file and renamed mpv-1.dll to mpv-2.dll. After these steps, the program launched successfully.
This solution has been effective for others experiencing similar issues. For instance, a user reported that after upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10, they copied the mpv.dll from OFS 2, installed OFS 3.2, renamed mpv-2.dll to mpv-2.dll.old, copied in the old mpv.dll, renamed it to mpv-2.dll, and it worked without crashing.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that some users have experienced excessive CPU usage due to mpv.dll. In one case, a user reported high CPU usage when opening 8k 60fps footage in OFS 1.1.9 and OFS 1.3.0, which was attributed to mpv.dll.
Therefore, replacing the mpv-2.dll file with an older version, such as mpv-1.dll, can help resolve issues related to program crashes or high CPU usage.
