Old sales post

Hello,
Can we order this one without the i-lub? SR6 All the Way – Your Hobbies Customized LLC
Did you upgrade it using the little metal ending?

Hey just a straight to the point question but as I was browsing I noticed on the recommended build there was two styles to choose from “ROMEO” or “ESP32” and was wondering (before I make a grand mistake and buy the wrong thing) what is the difference?

Thanks in advance.

@Elrktjekf45 If you order the SR6 and add the TValve, Heated Mod case and MK4 Twist it would be the same thing.

I have not added the bearing end rods to the SR6 or SR2 yet. I am expecting to add them in when I increase my prices towards the end of the year. In the mean-time I have been adding them upon request to orders.

@blackwing Romeo = the romeo microcontroller: it is a bit more expensive and has fewer channels. doesn’t need powerbus to be used with up to 3 servos or so.

I recommend the ESP32 which has more channels is less expensive and I provided built power buses with the kits so there is basically no reason to go with the Romeo IMO.

I just received my SR6 from @M0SAIC. The build quality is amazing; he built and shipped it with so much care. I had actually made a mistake when I placed my order, but he was super accommodating and helped me fix it! If you’re considering an SR6, I highly recommend it.

There’s a small amount of hardware needed which I recommend ordering before Mosaic ships. If you go with his basic SR6 design pre-built and want to use the included desk mount you’ll need:

  • 2x M6 Hex-Head 100mm Bolts (100mm will allow the full range of motion on the mount clamp)
  • 2x M6 Washers
  • 2x M6 Wing Nuts
  • 4x M4 10mm Machine Screws
  • 8x M4 Washers

I’d also recommend 4x M4 Male Female Rubber Mounts. They were recommended by Tempest on his Patreon and they can insulate the sound a bit. I got one that was sized 13mm x 13mm with a 10mm male screw (by uxcell).

Also, to anyone having issues with the sound of the servos, I wear ANC headphones and I couldn’t even hear them.

What servos did you upgrade to? That’s an impressive reduction in noise!

with that, the AGF A73CHLW

And I ordered six A86BHMW to see

Let us know how the A86BHMW ones sound once you get them installed, I’m curious how much better they’d be

Nice, I have the Sony WH1000X2 and a Onyx+ and I can hear the Onyx+ depending on how much background noise the video has. This takes one of my worries about switching to a OSR/SR6 away.

When searching for quieter servos to upgrade to, what’s the most important thing to look out for? Does higher strength mean quieter operation?

It is my understanding that there is work being done by the creator to try and integrate much quieter motors. No time frame on this currently. My guess would be that at the earliest we would see this around February, this is just speculation at best however.

At this time the quietest motors available also have a stutter or jitter. Most motors at higher speeds are all about the same dB.

Update

All builds with the Twist module to start including bearing end arms starting August 15. Small price increase to accomodate the inclusion of bearing end arms.

Lead time for prebuild orders is still holding at ~20days it will fall and then I get a surge of orders. This is a good problem to have I understand and I would like to thank all of you for your patience and support.

Smaller orders that are just parts or single modules (ie Osr2 base model, Twist, Mount, Servos etc.) are being built by my help here in the workshop and will have a shorter lead time.

Edit: The older arms with the rubber grommets limited the range of motion in the roll, sway axes.

I am adding the bearing end arms for the SR series to my shop if you would like to purchase the SR6 or SR2 with the bearing end arms before August 15.

Summer sale will go through September. SUMMERSALE 10% OFF.

Shipping cost on parts and smaller items that weigh less have been reduced to be more accomodating.

What benefit do the bearing end arms provide?

The older arms with the rubber grommets limited the range of motion in the roll, sway, forward/backward and left/right sway axes.

Are the bearing end arms on your store just an option to upgrade builds, or are they also the individual parts so people with the old arms can replace them?

Both available as upgrade and as part of the builds.

Does your " KIT - PLASTICS - SR6 With A Twist" kit come with the heim joints or the rubber bushings?

If a person ordered the plastics kit and the Electronic Parts and Hardware kit would anything else be required to build a SR6? Other than a fleshlight and bolts for the desk mount. I like assembling stuff myself. Easier to fix/modify later on that way.

Fish Eye Bearing

You would be able to build the SR6 with both kits.

Apologies for asking questions that have probably been asked a hundred times before, but even skimming a 400 post thread took a while :frowning:

My current setup for 99% of my porn viewing is on a Quest 2, lying in bed, connected to either SLR directly, or XBVR to stream local videos. I use a Handy connected to both apps and can stream the funscripts either from XBVR or SLR automatically using either DeoVR or HereSphere.

Would I be able to essentially continue using the same setup with an OSR/SR6?

minimum you’ll additionally need a computer/laptop and some clever, custom mounting set up. it’s not a hands free device.
