Hey guys,
I just got an osr2 downloaded all the goodies, including CP210X USB to Uart. My problem is in multifunplayer (i tried Mosa aswell) I can select the serial port as my output but it fails to connect (in both MFP and Mosa). I looked at device manager and when I clicked on CP210X etc. it says this:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
{Operation Failed}
The requested operation was unsuccessful.
Has anyone encountered this before and I’m just a big dummy? Or am I in the deep end alone?
Set the settings in your device manager for the respective COM port:
Baud Rate: 115200
Data Bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Also set turn off this to save power to: NO
If you got that down, great; when you built your OSR, did you flash the firmware correctly using similar settings in Arduino, you can also change the USB port, preferable USB 3.0; in addition may chipsets do not work with USB-C to USB-C, are you using that? Try USB-A to USB-C. Also make sure you are only connected via 1 channel/software i.e. Just XTPlayer, you might have that open and then try to connect via Ayva: it wont connect as it’s already connected to XT.
Hey thanks for the reply,
It was prebuilt and came flashed (I think), but I reflashed it myself and when I went to upload the t-code it said, “Could not open COM3, the port is busy or doesn’t exist.”
I tried everything else you said as well but sadly still no good.
Any ideas?
Thanks you in advance again lol
It may be best to contact the vendor, but the error you saw:
Usually means just that; I am assuming you saw COM3 on a dropdown list-- if so you more than likely had MultiFunPlayer or something else that was connected to your OSR. Are you sure COM3 is the COM port that is for your OSR? Try it again and make sure you have closed all other applications.
Weird, if it was prebuilt, it should have already been flashed and tested. Definitely reach out to the seller. They’ll be able to provide the most accurate guidance.
You can’t just flash. You have to first put the board into the correct mode by holding the BOOT button and pressing EN to reset it. Keep holding BOOT for a couple seconds, then start the flash.
