While operating the OSR2+, the twist module keeps making a rattling noise.
As a result, sometimes it rotates but then stops with a rattling sound.
I’ve disassembled it about four times and noticed that one of the two gears, the one not fixed to the screw, wobbles slightly when held and shaken by hand.
Also, when assembled, it seems like the receiver doesn’t fully engage and wobbles as well.
You would literally have to reveal who printed and assembled your OSR2 and twist receiver if you want any relevant information since not everyone’s machines are built by the same people. They’re probably of similar design since its based off Tempest’s design but no two sellers are the exact same. Cause if someone has a similar issue at all, it would have to be from the same seller for it to be a pattern.
Anyways, contact the person you bought the device from. Take photos and video of the issue if you want people to be able to understand the problem, since written detail only goes so far.
If you want the community to diagnose the problem you’d probably have to provide visuals anyways since it could be a variety of things. You might need more lubricant, maybe the gears are shot and the teeth got worn down. Check the teeth of the gear. Maybe its not matching up with the other gear? Who knows?
The link above is where I purchased the OSR2+.
This issue started a long time ago, so I stopped using the OSR2+. After disassembling it, I noticed the gears were worn, so I commissioned someone other than the manufacturer to 3D print replacements.
Even after applying lubricant and reassembling, the same issue persisted. I’ve disassembled it multiple times since then.
I mentioned the issue to the manufacturer a few times, but he responded that ‘there shouldn’t be any technical problems.’
Since I’ve only seen conversations among Korean users on Discord, I don’t know if others are experiencing the same issue.
Two weeks ago, the manufacturer asked for my order number via DM but hasn’t followed up, so I’m unsure about the progress.
It’s been a few months since I used the twist function. (I contacted the manufacturer about it quite late.)
I’ve seen some people in other communities experiencing the same issue, but I haven’t found any solutions.
I asked about the same issue in another community and got some clues there.
I had never opened the lid of the servo motor before, but today I opened it and adjusted its position.
The cause was the position of the servo motor.
If anyone is experiencing the same issue, try repositioning the servo motor.
Thanks to those who responded as well
Yeah not gonna lie, saying you fully disassembled it should’ve also meant you checked the servo assembly given that it is one of the moving parts on the twist receiver. Cause the assumption would be that you did everything you could and then came to ask for help to see if someone had an answer to a niche problem.
